The gap left by forza is over ten years of lack of fun racing games. Definitely will get this, loved the others and the race car driver series before this.
This plus wreckfest has brought pgr levels of fun back.
You have my attention, might have to check wreckfest out, I loved PGR back in the day This plus wreckfest has brought pgr levels of fun back.

Obviously it’s weighted towards destruction derby but it’s fab. I expect the same from grid. Out of interest we’re you a forza fan?
I enjoy all/most racing games tbh, currently really enjoying MXGP 3 and Dirt 4 as well as Forza 7 and sometimes horizon 4
What I found is when grid and pgr got effectively squashed by forza, the market was void of any fun racers for those of us that don’t want realism (without crash damage and anal whining Australian and American players)
Pgr was brains out fun. Pick up and drive.
I’m hoping grid brings back what it previously did.

Plus, how satisfying was it walking around the showrooms on PGR deciding what car to get next. It was a comfy game. The last one with snow etc was incredible too. Pgr was brains out fun. Pick up and drive.
I’m hoping grid brings back what it previously did.

I agree PGR was brilliant.
I remember playing the first PGR when I bought a 360 for the first time (must have been PGR3, if it was at the 360's release). I sat playing it with my mate and we were blown away with the graphics! We would watch the full reply every time because it look so good. I haven't really had that wow factor since, maybe it's growing up, or maybe the step between the Xbox & the 360 was just a bigger jump than we see between consoles these days.
Watched a few vids over the weekend on here

Looks fantastic tbh, I've never played a Grid game, no idea how they passed me by I have just bought launch edition ready for release day

I was very tempted, but I think I might just wait for an offer. Put off a little by the reviews.
One thing I really liked about the first one was signing sponsors, added a little management element that I really liked. Small thing of course, but disappointing it's not in this one.
Also, the very short races look annoying.
Off topic, but Xbox had an offer on their GamePass. £2 for 2 months. I took that out and downloaded another Codemasters racer - Dirt Rally 2.0. It is surprisingly hardcore, a lot more 'Sim' focused than I was expecting. Have been playing that a bit and it's good fun, but not sure I would have wanted to pay full price for it.

Went and bought it anyway - prefer a more ‘arcadey’ racer than a nerdy Sim - loading up now, and once the 2.8gb update has installed will give it a go
Let us know your thoughts. My favourite racing games are usually the one's that have a nice mix of sim/arcade. More sim style handling, but not forgetting to be fun!
Been playing for an hour or two - it’s all a bit ‘meh’ to be honest - playing on PS4 with Logitech G29 wheel/pedals - it’s just not very exciting, graphics seem to be a bit blocky and low-res at times (playing on a 106” projector screen, which might accentuate it but still 1080p and other games aren’t like this). Easy to play straight out of the box, even with the wheel but I’m bored already and will trade it in tomorrow I think. Could imagine if you had a full lobby of friends online it might be fun but it’s not enough to keep my interest....
