Announced tonight at Blizzcon, Diablo 4 is coming.

Check out the cinematic trailer, it is utterly sensational:

Path of Exile may finally have a real fight on it's hands!

Gameplay video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RdDpqCmjb4

Is that Ralph Ineson (Finchy from The Office & GoT Ironborn) talking?

Just a slash em up.

Reminds me of a PS4 zombie game I have.

Dead nation, that's the one.
Also see gods of war.

The only w issues I have with this game is the never ending play. You should get to the final boss, kill him then that’s the end. Game over. Credit roll. Rather than reload and do it all again. Maybe just unlock a super hard setting just the once.

The other issue is cheats. Everyone just buying super weapons, armour etc. It should all be found by chance. Make the game challenging.

A few people not really getting the Diablo thing.

Yes Diablo does have a decentish story that you can "complete", it even has an end boss but the game doesn't end when you've completed the story, rather it opens up other modes where you can then go on and either increase your characters strength and items but doing solo or co-op missions or you can start a new character. It's a dungeon looter so in essence it is just kill harder monsters to get better weapons when you boil it right down to basics so if you don't enjoy that, then it's probably not for you.

Personally I can't wait for this new one, I've spent an unseemly amount of time on Diablo 3 with mates, I find it almost therapeutic at times. Switch it on, kill some monsters, find better gear. They've also introduced seasons now which add extra content and new things to do every couple of months which is all free.

PS you can't buy super weapons, anything you can buy is rubbish, you get the best ones them by completing missions\rifts and mostly by luck.

Is it just me or do the graphics and gameplay look identical to D3?

Pretty much, graphics look to be a bit more detailed and gritty perhaps but then I think more of the same is probably what most people want.

Looks good but not due for release for another 2-3 years apparently. Which is odd as they’ve released gameplay trailers already...

The point of these games is the long haul looting and grinding. That's why they're so addictive, blending great gameplay with the reward of dropping top gear. The point in Diablo 3 was grinding loot for higher Torment levels.

Path of Exile is even more extreme, as most players play the challenge leagues where new content is pioneered. There, your game world only exists for a few months and everything is lost at the end of the league (well, it's sent to standard league). This encourages players to try new builds and allows a lot of scope to tweak, buff and nerf various skills or items.

There is always a race between the gear and the difficulty you meet. I just love these sorts.of games.

While the loot grind is mostly the point, games like this do also need new content or they can get very samey.

While Diablo 3 kept me entertained for a good long while, there is only so many times you can keep playing the same level and fighting the same monsters.

I had a go at seasons on 3 recently, was fun for about a week or two, especially as I was levelling up a new character but quickly got to the point where I felt I'd done it all again.

Ideally with looters like this, they need to release new DLC periodically to keep it fresh.
