Yup, to the point I had to stop playing it (and haven't for a year now) because it was causing me some kind of RSI in my left wrist.....oopsy.
It must be one of the best value and most satisfying games that exist if you're into that kind of genre.
The huge numbers of mods as well, you can make it as difficult and more complex as you like once you master it (although I have only played the regular game with mods to make it a bit nicer). The newer hi-res graphics and recent changes make a big difference too.

I keep hearing about this game and have watched a couple of videos, never actually got round to buying it though, waiting for to go on sale (which it seems to never do)
But all i hear is great things
I waited for a sale but it never came. Got impatient and bought it, but it’s definitely worth the full price in terms of hours spent. But all i hear is great things
I still feel that I’ve barely scratched the surface
I drop in to this now and again every year or so, spend about 40-50 hours building a factory then get to the point where things need to be organised, look at the spaghetti mess of my factory that needs untangled and think f
k this...... then dont touch it for about a year again
great game though, I just dont have the organisational skills to do it efficiently

Bump to this old thread because this is probably my favourite game of all time and it seems to be criminally underappreciated here.
Has seamod been updated to work with the new version? I've just come back after a break to see 1.1, and I can swear some of the recipes have changed for science packs. Just started a new vanilla map with a few quality of life mods (squeak through, far reach, etc).
I might give Bob's Mods a go after finishing this playthrough but was pretty intimidated by them in the past.

What's to lose friend?
All your friends because you spend 40 hours per week after work playing it? haha.It is very good but I can see why it appeals to a certain type of person, so demo is a good idea.
A lot of why it's so addictive also doesn't become obvious until you start scaling things up and getting a good grasp on how to play it. Since that last post ages ago, my RSI in my hand is better and I can play again... yay.
Really liked the Spidertrons!

Not masochistic enough to try any of the big mods, don't quite have that sort of patience.

Can anyone explain what makes this game so addictive? Everyone I've seen review this game says they have pumped many hundreds of hours in to it, compare it to digital crack but can't explain why. I have never played it, and I'm just as confused watching YouTube videos of it.
Do you have any responsibilities? Have you ever spent a day automating a task to save you five minutes in some speculative future, in order to avoid said responsibilitiesIf so this is your way out.

Ok, I should really go eat something, let me just finish building this new mining station on this ore patch and connect it to the train network. Oh, the increased ore amount is going to require additional smelting columns, interesting, let me expand out ore processing and balance the iron plate and steel production.. hmm I could use more express belts I better see why production has stopped, ah I'm out of light oil I should probably crack more heavy oil or increase storage as oil production has stopped. Hmm, a blackout? Oh the new smelting column has overloaded the electricity grid I'll see about expanding my nuclear plant....If so this is your way out.
Why am I so hungry I only ate... 8 hours ago.. oh.
I've got £200 worth of Google Cloud Credit expiring in 50 days.
What if I stuck up a Factorio server for everyone here, would anyone be up for that? Come and go as you please, create whatever you like..
Drop your Factorio ID below if you're interested so I can add you to the whitelist, and what mods/map type would you prefer?
