Help needed Modern Warfare

I decided to rejoin the Call of Duty experience, with my new PS4. Played and finished the game, bloody great fun. Tried to get online via the multiplayer (paid the year subscription) however I keep getting the msg that I must pay for the subscription. Have I missed something?

Having had previous version of the game, it seemed easier getting online.
All my network connections are good btw.

Just to check it's the PlayStation Plus subscription you paid for and not something in CoD itself? Make sure you're signed in on the correct account on the PS4 itself and it's got all the updates. If that's all done then do a proper restart (not just the power save) on the console and try again.

Cheers, yes it's the pukka subscription, will try the power down and restart.
