I was quite a keen gamer (Playstation) but stopped just before the release of the PS3. So I’ve missed out on a lot! But recently been thinking to get back into it. A part of me thinks I’ll just get bored quickly and stop playing but at the same time I don’t want to get addicted (don’t think I will tbh).

I don’t have a TV in my room. Would welcome any good monitor recommendations and size. I’m thinking to also wait for the PS5 but games will continue to be released for the PS4 for some time yet I’d imagine?

There's at least another 2 years left in the current Gen.
Plus the next version will be able to play the current titles.
The key thing is to find a couple of games you really like playing and can get half good at.

I use an OLED TV and a PS4 Pro. The colours are stunning... Also bonus for watching HD TV (and UHD)...

If you might get bored, then oyu are wasting your money buying a monitor. Get a TV which will display the games perfectly, as a bonus you can watch tv programmes on it. Add a chromecast and the worlds your oyster.

My budget is around £150 for a TV/Monitor. Not sure if that’ll get me a decent one though.

In terms of games, I’ve always preferred story driven as opposed to multiplayer/online.

Don’t bother waiting for the ps5, the PS4 is great and you have loads of great stuff to catch up on, most of which is available nice and cheap. Plenty of the best of the ps3 got higher quality rereleases on PS4 too.

Just buy whichever 32” 1080p TV suits, plenty to choose from at £150.

Try and factor in some sort of surround sound also. really adds to the experience.

Not always a given, it is personal preference. I personally find surround sound a distraction, with driving games at least.
Headphones are a much better bet, if you are looking to listen for footsteps etc.

Agreed with aboev, I only got my PS4 a year ago and it'll do for some time yet. If you want a good story driven game and something that crosses so many boundary's get GTA V, I'd never played any GTA game before, my mate got me a copy as he loves it and I was absolutely hooked, it is so emersive and you can do so much in the open world of it.

Just get ps4 or xbox and download pubg. You won't mind the spotty graphics, terrible clunky movements as your a ps2 player. The best game iv played in years. Infact only game iv enjoyed as much as counter strike back in the day. Zero aim assist, potato gun fights, complete fear going for a win. Honestly love it.

Not even bothered with any story games since. 100 people, and I win so I'm the best! (Even if I hid in that toilet for 45 minutes)

Have a look at Richer Sounds: https://www.richersounds.com/tv-projectors/all-tvs...

HDR ones: https://www.richersounds.com/tv-projectors/hdr-tvs...

Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Metro series spring to mind. Even Resident Evil remakes.
