I've done a search through PH and not really found much of a definitive answer.

I've just got myself an Xbox One - partially for the kids and partially for a couple of weeks of recovery following an Op I'm due to have next week. I knew games were expensive, but forgot just how expensive...

I was aware of CDKeys and I want to buy Forza4 (and potentially other games) and the question, really, is this: How legitimate is it and are there any gotchas I need to be aware of?

As an aside - What is the best games subscription to look for? I'm aware of the Xbox game pass @ £11 odd a month, but what else is there and what else is worth considering?

Thanks smile

I use cdkeys all the time. Forza 4 is on gamepads and I got 3 months for a quid which is a better option.

CDKEYS is the standard go to place for xbox live etc, always has been.
You will definitely need Live to get the most out of your gaming.
As for the game pass, personally I dont use it as I have a few games I play regularly. In this case Game Pass works out really expensive, as you have to keep the subscription going to play the game. You stop paying, you lose the ability to play the game.
IE. Playing Sea of Thieves for two years will cost you roughly a couple of hundred quid in subscription costs, where you could just buy the game to keep forever for £15 from CDKeys.
Dont be fooled by the claims of 100s of games, you will only take to a few and play them. There is a hell of a lot of crap on there.
Try and work out what games you like. Maybe try the trial for a £1, just to test the games for a bit. Then cancel it and go buy the game properly cheaper elsewhere, even maybe secondhand.

I game on PC and have been using cdkeys for years. It's a rarity to find anywhere else cheaper for what I want.

I was wary too but checked online and seemed legit. I used it for ps4, no issues. Just make sure you buy for the correct region

Last question - If I buy Forza 4, will this game be tied to my (and my family) account? IE, if I install it at home and then go to my mums (where I'm going to be convalescing for a couple of weeks), will I be able to install it and play it there (logged in as me)?

ETA - Doom 2 did from my 360 to my One and on to my mum's, so I'd have thought it would, but didn't want to assume...

Do you really mean Forza4? Thats a very old game.
Either way, if you buy it digitally, yes, wherever you login you will be able to download it again. And yes it is locked to your Xbox ID.

You are aware this is a Game Pass game ?

FWIW, from time to time Game Pass offers come up, and these can be stacked - e.g. recently Amazon were doing 3 months Ultimate for £16. I bought a couple of those at the time.

Yeh, but I'm wondering if gamepass is worth it as this way, I've got the game regardless of whether I pay for gamepass or not...

Why not get 3 month game pass from CDKeys for £7.99 ? This way you can play FH4 now and evaluate Game Pass. Then, buy the game outright in the future when it's likely to be cheaper anyway. Game Pass can be a lot more affordable than £11 per month.

Games Pass Ultimate (which includes Live Gold) is one of the best deals in gaming if you're into playing a variety of genres and exposes you to some excellent games you may never have given a chance.
When it first launched you could transfer any Gold membership or Games Pass membership into Ultimate at no extra cost, so the best thing to do was load up 2 years worth of gold membership and convert that to Ultimate. I don't think that is possible anymore but I'm pretty sure you can get 2 month trials of Ultimate for a quid.

Forza Horizon 4 is on Games Pass. Forza 7 isn't, but I suspect it will be eventually. Every new Microsoft studios game launches immediately. This year's highlight was Gears 5.

If you play the system with game pass I would be surprised you could get it for less than one game a year. I own 30 games but will probably never play 20 again. If is the future

I use allkeyshop as its like a compare the meerkat of cdkey sites, shows the prices from each one and sometimes gets little discount codes to use too, never had any issues using any of the sites linked from there other than sometimes having a bit of a wait to get the key.

Beware of accounts being sold though, I never tried these as I heard of issues with them with people losing them after buying etc, but it says if its an account or code in the listings anyway.
