The developers appear to be working on updating it again, but as far as I know the community started dying around the point the VW Scirocco and Rockingham were permanently "a few weeks away" for several years. Certainly the last time I picked it up the only people playing were mostly messing around with the various tools allowing you to change the engine and chassis settings for the cars, although that was before the current work to improve the graphics.
Shame as it was really promising back in the day, unfortunately they appeared to run into problems where implementing the stability control programme for the Scirocco showed up inaccuracies in their tyre model, and it felt like the team lost interest shortly afterward. (Given they started work before the third-generation Scirocco was launched and the car managed to finish its entire production cycle without being released in game.)

The driving physics in BeamNG can be a bit interesting but my god it's brilliant. I've not tried it with my wheel yet but it's a fun solo experience, add in a few mods and you'll spend hours driving about.
