PS4 Pro buying advice please?
Discussion
Hi
I'm completely new to games consoles and am looking to buy a PS4 pro
I've read that there are two gens, the earlier gen had a noisier fan and has a SN of CHU 701xxxx and the later gen a SN of 702xxx
Would any of the main outlets ie Amazon, Game etc still be selling brand new, boxed versions of the earlier gen?
Also, the pricing confuses me. At Game you can buy the ps4 pro with 3 games for £359
https://www.game.co.uk/en/m/playstation-4-pro-1-tb...
Or just the console for £20 more. That doesn't make any sense to me.

Thank you.

I would recommend you hold off as the PS5 is just about to be revealed and will be coming out at the end of this year. It will likely cost around £400 and will play all ps4 games. I am not sure if it will play those games in Pro mode but I assume it would. The PS5 uses all new NVME SSD technology so should eliminate loading times, even on PS4 games.
If you have your heart set on a ps4 now, buy a slim or a 2nd hand pro and trade it in when the PS5 launches.

I did hear about the PS5 but that's still many months away and I fancied one now.
Problem with second hand is that they don't seem much cheaper than new. The ebay ones go for £280ish and I can get a brand new one with warranty and one game for £350, for £70 I'd prefer a new one.
I just can't figure out if these new ones might be the previous gen with the noisier fan.
Thanks
I’d get a used normal PS4 now and a PS5 when it comes out. From what I’ve read it’s not really worth buying the PS4 pro now with the PS5 round the corner.

Thanks, but won't the hit I take on resale be the same? ie I spend £350 on the pro or £250 on the slim, in 6 months time they'll both have lost £100 (for example).https://youtu.be/A_GIQwe8bI4
Or will the pro lose significantly more?
Thanks
