Free on the Epic Games store if you download it today (you'll be able to keep it and play it forever), it's only just released today too.

If you link your Total War account with your Epic Games store account you get the first DLC (Amazons) free too when it's released.

I'm struggling a bit to enjoy the game at the minute, with so many factions to keep track of (Google tells me 93 factions spread over Greece, Western Turkey and a couple of the big Med islands) I keep joining an ally in a war then immediately the faction that ally went to war with jumps into my territory and sacks a town or two before I can move an army back to defend. Maybe once I learn where the factions are I might be a bit more careful!
I've taken 3 factions up to about turn 30 before giving up due to different reasons (running out of food being a big one, you have to trade like crazy to get enough food to support 2 armies unless I'm missing something), if my current game ends up falling to pieces I might call it a day with Troy.

I wanted to go for this, but I can’t get past the bit where it’s free...but only if you go through an affiliate of the Chinese government.

As the saying goes “if a product is free, you are the product”.

You get a AAA title for free, but only through a company partially owned by Tencent.

I’m not in anyway trusting Tencent with my data. Sounds like a honey trap to me.
