Not really a gamer here and certainly not played anything recently other than a demo on my mate's PS4 pro but how good does Star Wars Squadrons look???

We're thinking about getting a PS4 as a family Christmas present and this has encouraged me even more.

Looks interesting, but since it's an EA game I'll wait until the reviews come in.

If its anything like the VR mission they added onto Battlefront it should be great. Still one of the standout PSVR experiences.

If it’s anything like the old X Wing or TIE fighter games of the 90s then I’m in.

The Battlefield PSVR experience was great, I’ll be playing this on PC with a Rift S and can’t wait for it.

I rarely use my Rift, only when the nephews come over but might dig it out for this, it looks ace!

Loaded this up yesterday for the first time in a while and have to agree. Goodness knows why they didn’t flesh this out into a full game. It’s amazing!

For whatever reason, flying is the only VR experience that doesn't give me motion sickness

It's likely that your brain accepts the movement as ore real in cockpit games. So flying/racing stuff usually has lower incidence of VR sickness as you have fixed references in the cockpit. You and not just disembodied hands.

I've ordered this game. Star Wars, VR and HOTAS support on PC, cross play. Yes please.

Looks OK but i'm not interested in multiplayer and only a 6 or 7 hour single player campaign. I'll wait till it's in the bargain bin.

A shame they don’t provide a “build your own battle” like Xwing vs TieFighter

Loved that game, hopefully this game will be just as good!

Not playing in VR, but I'm struggling to quite click with Squadrons.

The control scheme is a bit obstructive when using a controller on PC. Button Combos aren't seemingly enabled so it's really very compromised.
Keyboard keys mapped to the controller are feeling a bit iffy too.

Also doesn't look as nice as I'd hoped from the trailers. It's all a bit.... thin? GFX set for Ultra but the awful film grain effect OFF.

I really wanted to like this, maybe a few days of bug fixing and it'll smooth out.

Flew for a bit in non-VR just to get a grip of controls etc. Mapping stuff to my Warthog HOTAS was straightforward. The stick defaults to 'yaw' when you move it left and right; quickly changed that to roll and mapped the rudder input to yaw the ship.

Just spent a while in VR. I AM in a TIE Fighter. The Rebel scum are toast. It's great fun so far.

I had a Thrustmaster combined stick/throttle as well as the Warthog plugged in and it came up as 3 separate controllers. Didn't try mapping all 3 but I imagine it'd work.

Enjoying it so far, controls take a bit of getting used to and I wish they provided “south paw” with the yaw/roll switched which would feel more natural.

I'm loving it so far, the multiplayer is good fun. Story was a bit short, and it didn't grab me, but it looked amazing!

Controls were iffy to get used to at the start - i'm used to the throttle being on the shoulder buttons (PS4 user) - so it took a while, but it's great.

A-Wing ftw....
