It has been the most bizarre year of my life and it's probably for the same for most people.

My favourite game this year and is really suited to the long periods of lockdown and furlough is Kenshi. It is not normally the sort of game that would even be on my radar normally but I have loved it so far. Accordinding to Steam I have played nearly 500 hours but I reckon I have played probably at least double that as I have played it offline a lot so that my steam friends couldn't see how much I was playing it. boxedin

The Last of Us 2.

Didn’t want it to end.

Children of Morta, an amazing game.

Most surprising game for me this year has been Fallout 76. Was utterly uninterested when it came out but the recent updates have made it a really fun time sink.

Kenshi is awesome. Dated graphics and a clunky game engine, but there is nothing else quite like it.

Most played for me this year are Kenshi, Mount and blade 2 Bannerlord and Red dead redemption 2...so one of them three.

Resident Evil 2 remake. I know it’s not original, but thoroughly enjoyed and imo the way a remake should be. Nods to the original keeping key bits, but injecting new life into it.

ETA- Sorry wasn’t released in 2020. Demon’s Souls on the PS5 then. Struggling with it a bit, but it’s a good game to get stuck into and has kept me focused on that just one more go/try this mentality. I know they’re a love / hate game but a challenge is good. Looks nice too.

Art of Rally

Simple, addictive, classic rally cars. Surprised it doesn't get more love on here ( PH thread)

Probably get slagged for this but Last of Us 2. I thought it was absolutely amazing, and didn't care about any of the political stuff in regard to it.

Works fine with a controller. Don't let a lack of wheel put you off...

I'll go with population one. It really seems like a leap forward in VR for me. A step away from gimmicky VR mechanics and experiences, towards genuinely fun gameplay.

F1 2020. Probably one of the last good F1 games now EA are buying Codemasters.
