Anyone playing (attempting to with server issues atm)?

Seems like a destiny like third person shooter?

I dabbled with the free demo. Was good fun so I'll be playing more. Had a quick blast earlier today and they've at least fixed the camera shake in the cut-scenes

I've started it, the gameplay is alright, fun but kind of simple. Maybe there will be more depth in the end game content. At the moment it feels like a 2011 game with 2021 visuals.

The story and setting are pretty cool, but the character dialogue and voice acting is awful, it must be said.

I keep getting my arse kicked by the first boss! Guess I suck at games, may have to take it back to a lower world-level (normal)

The demo I tried on PS4 was so flawed and bugged I decided right then to give it a miss for some time! it was truly awful!

The world tier thing is misleading, it's not worth trying to max the world tier before you've finished the story or you've hit the max level. You will just hit a wall where enemies have too much health and damage for the gear you are dropping and if you upgrade something to fight them properly, it will be useless in about 30 minutes as you will level up and drop stronger gear, but the world tier curve will keep pushing the enemies power up faster than yours.

The intention is that going for the highest tiers is meant for the end game but this isn't explained particularly well in the game.

Also, holy st the servers for this game are truly fking awful.

Aah that might explain it, cheers! I've not had any server issues but I can see why people are so frustrated especially as they're "always on" even if just playing solo.

I tried the demo, errr it is a cover shooter that makes you engage in the open to heal ? and the control system is very poor, there are too many moments the game won't let you do what you should be able to do,e.g take cover .
Just buy a GOW game for a superior experience.

It's not really a cover shooter, don't be fooled by the superficial resemblance to GOW.

I’m not sure it knows what it is meant to be ,if it’s not a cover shooter why all the cover ? And if it’s a get in their faces type of shooter why are the controls so crap ?
Anyway regardless of what it is or isn’t and I don’t think it knows ,it’s not for me

Much like other games People Can Fly have made, it is something all of its own. You can play it as a cover shooter if you use the sniper class, but the other 3 classes perform better in the open. The devastator class for example, heals when killing enemies that are less than 10m away, so you need to rush and be aggressive.

The cover, for most classes, is there to allow you to hide from fire momentarily, let your health regenerate (you can passively regen the last 30% of your health bar) or to let your abilities cool down. You can't hide for long as the enemies are aggressive, with a lot of melee rusher types and enemies that can call in artillery to dig you out.

So it's not a cover shooter, it has loot and abilities and yet it isn't like Destiny either. Outriders really is about crowd control, making combos of abilities and not getting overwhelmed, while also having to push aggressively to survive, a bit like Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal, with some build and ability combo scope to allow for player creativity. Getting started in the endgame activities, I tried some of the abilities I had found to be a bit weak when I was playing the story, only to find they were actually very powerful and I had been using them wrong, or in ways that didn't offer much synergy with the rest of the skills or equipment.

Speaking of the endgame without spoilers, it is a lot of fun. Total carnage, fast paced and offers a load of loot, I think it could be really good as the difficulty increases.

Just playing this now as downloaded it yesterday on Gamepass, dispatched my first 'altered' biggrin

Game play is fast enough, I choose the technomancer class, just a shame I need to get on and do some work on the house before I can carry on playing this game hehe

Good job I've got tommorow off as well!

If anyone wants to add me to party up on any quests I'm 'Rossifields' on Xbox

Really enjoying the game so far with friends, when it works that is. It's so infuriating to be mid way through a *comment disconnected*

Had my damage halved by the patch notes at end game, but still fun building loadouts up. Currently at CT14, struggling to get the last gold at ct14 to unlock 15.
