PS4 Sim Racing - Which Game?
Discussion
I've just set up a games room in my new house and bought a Logitech G29 wheel set to go with my PS4.
Fired it up and having great fun but I am still playing the original Project Cars game, which is obviously a bit old hat now, but it's been a while since I have played racing games.
I'm looking for suggestions which game would be best to move up to now, Gran Turismo Sport or Project Cars 2 or 3? Probably others I may have missed but interested in suggestions

GT4 Sport because whilst not as 'simmy' as PC1 (and I am currently playing both simultaneously) it's fun online in the SPORT races and there is a large variety of cars. It's also kinda fun just doing time trials to see what would be faster (eg 86 vs E30 M3 vs Integra Type R). I also really enjoyed Assetto Corsa and there are some beautiful cars especially when you get the DLC. I think dynamically as well that is the best game I have played racing wise. I tend to have ABS, TC and stability control off, no racing lines etc.
Gran Turismo Sport if you want to dip in and out and have a wealth of nice shiny cars to play with etc.
Assetto Corsa if you have some time to 'invest' in getting good at something much less arcadey. Assetto Corsa is my favourite sim on PC (although all the mods available help there) so I am biased.
Assuming there are the same settings available, take the Alfa Junior GTA, go to the Nurburgring, set the surface conditions to 'old' and just lap that for a week. You'll have a real feel for the nuances of grip and weight transfer you can feel through the wheel, and even going into something like a modern MX-5 you can physically feel through the wheel how much stickier the tyres are

I haven't tried it on PS4 but I play a lot of ACC (Assetto Corsa Competizione) on my PC with a Thrustmaster T150. It is an absolutely fantastic game, if I only had access to one sim racing game this would be it. The cars sound and feel great, no mods are required at all for the game or to improve the wheel feel. The base set of tracks are really good as well but the DLC tracks have some real gems like Oulton Park and Bathurst. They also have a ranking system in multiplayer with a safety rating. Definitely worth a try if you can grab it on sale!
https://gbrcracing.com/ I race with these guys on GTSport, we welcome anyone interested in clean racing.
OP, Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition is £6.99 on the PS Store. Despite having AC with a number of the vehicle packs already I've still bought it as it includes all the (well, all the remaining for me) DLC.
I love the open wheel and LMP/GT cars in AC (over the road cars) and I now have the likes of the MC12 GT1, P1 GTR, F2004 and Audi and Toyota LMP1 cars to choose from. Happy days.
