Deathloop - anyone given it a go?
Discussion
Seems to be getting very good reviews but no mention on here from what I can tell.
Seems to be PS5 timed exclusive for c1 year and PC on release. Bit odd as it's a Bethesda game, now owned by Microsoft but assume the exclusive was sorted before the acquisition.
I'm taking a bit of a break from PC gaming due to homeworking and haven't been able to get a PS5 yet. Keen to know how it plays / your opinions if you have got it
I started this last night. I enjoyed Dishonoured but never got beyond the Prey demo.
I've only really done the tutorial level so hard to judge the gameplay on a more than superficial level so I won't bother yet. It's very stylish and stylised in its presentation, the presentation and delivery is good and the characters seem to have personality. I'm on PC so using M+KB and the controls seem logical and well laid out, standard sort of bindings so easy to get straight into. My only gun feels a bit weak and ineffectual but they may just be starter gun syndrome.
Not had any of the reported micro-stutter or other issues reported for PC and I'm playing on my old i5/1080/8GB machine. Load times are a bit sluggish.

Put a few hours into this now and the mysteries are starting to unfold. It's incredibly stylish and I'm getting a lot more comfortable moving around the levels and taking down the enemies now I've unlocked a few slabs and higher level guns.
As someone who bounced off Dishonored because it was a bit too prescriptive about how to play, I'm finding this a lot more accommodating to how I want to do things.

Give Prey a try too - another Arkane title. It's more open-form than Dishonored and an all-round amazing game. It's a few years old now too, so you can get it pretty cheap if you shop around. As someone who bounced off Dishonored because it was a bit too prescriptive about how to play, I'm finding this a lot more accommodating to how I want to do things.
