A little help please.
My friends were chatting about the upcoming Forza release in the pub the other night.
As I'm a few years older than them and the last game I played much of was on the PS3 (Gran Tourismo something), so I'm completely out the loop.
I'd like to surprise them by joining in with their gameplay.
What do I need? I probably won't really play much else but I do want to be able to call them a w
ker when appropriate and hear them when they reply.
I have 70 odd meg broadband and an LG CX OLED.
I'm not a technophobe but I'm also not an expert.
So in short, what Xbox, headset etc do I need?
Thanks.

Cheap: Xbox One (X if you can afford), headset to chat - wireless is better - Xbox now had a proprietary audio so as long as you buy something that is 'compatible with xbox' that's what you need - £60 on a Turtle beach one (other brands are available) I have an Xbox One X (XB1X) and although it's capable of 4k, I run it HD so I get a better framerate. 4k isn't that important to me.My friends were chatting about the upcoming Forza release in the pub the other night.

Expensive: Xbox Series S or X (the new models) - and above headset
The game, OR if it's on 'Gamepass' - which is the Microsoft PC and Xbox subscription game service if the new Forza is going to be on there.
Thats about it

Also, forgot to add, you'll need a subscription to Xbox Live, which (depending on how you pay for it) is about £30 per year which allows online gaming, no matter what game you buy (assuming its an online game)- its the bit that links you up with your friends to play online.
Also worth noting that if you want game pass (which Forza should be on on launch day as its an MS Studios game), you can buy XBOX Live (up to 3 years can be on your account at once, also CDKeys is cheaper than getting it straight from MS) and convert it all to game pass for £1 (assuming you haven’t ever had game pass, whether free trial or paid, before).
I did it through CDKeys and 3 x 12 month XBOX Live codes cost £116, plus £1 to convert and I now have 3 years of game pass, which would normally cost close to £400.

Game pass does the online subscription for you.
I’d avoid the Xbox one X
Xbox series S (mid range) or x (high end) for the win.
Yes, the naming is dumb.
What do u think they will use for the next generation name? I await with interest to see HOW much more confusing they can make an already confusing marking sI’d avoid the Xbox one X

Series S, Turtle Beach headset and 2.1 HDMI cable purchased.
I shall be subscribing to the game pass which also gives me Live Gold for £1 for the first month then £10 a month.
Hopefully should be up and running tomorrow.
Good effort. I’m sure there will be a PH’er club in forza 5I shall be subscribing to the game pass which also gives me Live Gold for £1 for the first month then £10 a month.

Before you do that.....there is a legitimate way of getting 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate for the price of £1. When you take up the £1 Game Pass Ultimate offer it converts any existing Live membership to Game Pass Ultimate on a 1:1 ratio. So if first you stock up on the maximum allowed 3 years of Gold, then take up the offer of Game Pass for £1 it will convert all three years of Gold to Game Pass, so 3 yrs of GP for £1.
Gold is chapter to buy from cdkeys.co.uk, once purchased it gives you a code to redeem on the Xbox Store to buy Gold.
