Quite happy only took a week of daily checking of the key sites and twitter and managed to get one from Game today. That said it won’t arrive for a while so won’t get too excited just yet.

I have been Xbox aligned since a brief spell with a ps3 so have no idea about the PS exclusives.

Recommend me some !

I have Spider Man coming as part of the bundle and Horizon zero dawn is top of my list but other than that I don’t have a clue.

I just bagged mine via Currys, and went for Ratchet & Clank (so not played it yet). The PS4 one was brilliant. Shooty platform adventure thing, really well done.

Demons Souls Remake

Then you can complete that just in time for Elden Ring in February.

What kind of games do you like?

One thing is also if you get the PSN (online gaming) you also get 20 free PS4 games (some are great too and one is Fallout which frankly could keep you going for six months).

I have Battlefield 2042 which is all kinds of awesome (well, I have played the old games so loving this with the Portal). And has 128 players.

I also have Far Cry 6 which is the same as the other Far Cry games, just new skin really....

I will get Dying Light 2 when the price comes down.....

The Last Of Us 1 and 2 if you've not played them.

Guardians of the Galaxy is meant to be really good although not played it myself.

I'd play the free game that comes with it first though, Astros Playroom.
Very enjoyable and shows you all the benefits of the new dual shock.

My Xbox faves were :
-Fallout 3 and 4 but not 76
-Forza but recent one is pretty boring I think
-Subnautica 1&2 but completed them
-Mafia 1 but not the others (remastered is fantastic)
-GTA 5
-Skyrim
-Wreckfest
-Outer Worlds
-Mass effect andromeda
-Mudrunner and snowrunner
-The earlier Halos

I also recently sold my switch , absolutely loved Zelda and Mario Odyssey

I think Spider Man , Horizon Dawn and Ratchet & Clank sound like good day 1 games to play in conjunction with game pass equivalent - looking forward to having a go

HZD is fantastic all round. Graphics, gameplay and story are superb - I've played it on PS4 but I think it gets a graphic boost for PS5. The Frozen Wilds DLC is probably only a few quid but well worth it - actually adds to the story rather than just feel like some extra stuff bolted on. Son loved Spiderman & it looks gorgeous on his PS5.

Funny you mention the Switch - son bought one, played it a bit then it sat there gathering dust. Sold it & bought an Xbox to sit next to his PS5!

Totally agree with this. If you've missed out on The Last of us 1 and 2 because you've been on XBox for a while then you MUST play these two games. It's not about PS5 graphics or anything like that, but they are hands down the two best games i've ever played. Trust me.

Cheers everyone , making a list and checking it twice.

I don’t want to overwhelm myself with loads of games as it stops me getting into them. That’s the problem with gamepass etc I find but I will get the ps plus looks like it’s worthwhile

Hmm. I just can't get on with Last of Us at all. Couldn't even tell you why & it's annoying as Last of Us 2 is on PS Now until January!

Me neither. I think the gameplay felt a bit contrived, and at that point things about the world annoyed me, like needing (I am probably exaggerating) three pairs of scissors to make a shiv, which then breaks as soon as you use it. I could make six shivs from three pairs of scissors, and I bet I could use them far more than once each.

Obviously worth trying though - lots of people love those games - but didn't click for me.

Just had a look at some gameplay videos.

Last of us looks quite dated (2013 I think it was, but Last of Us 2, providing I don't need to play the first one, looks worthwhile getting on if it only has a limited time on PS now.

Death Stranding looks interesting but seemed to be a lot of narrative in the gameplay video, not much actual play. Ratchet and clank is a definite especially as its £25 Clubcard price.

Returnal looks interesting but will have to check that one out a bit more first.

My kids were XBox kids until eldest went to "big school" and most of his new mates had PS, so got a couple of 2nd hand ones for this years Fifa release, of course, this meant I could play the Last of Us games which I'd been wanting to do for ages, I loved them both.

Also consider God of War which hasn't yet been mentioned.

Useful thread this, now we have a PS5 I have the hand me down PS4 permanently with nothing really to play on it and I've just finished Far Cry 6 (PC) so I'm sorta between games. Eldest is telling me I must play Spiderman. Guy at work is recommending Boomerang game rental and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Bought Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for a few quid off ebay, lasted 15 minutes and gave up.

Senua's Sacrifice is very good as above.

Last of us & 2 are the best games I’ve ever played.

I am currently enjoying ghost of Tsushima which is very assassins creed like.

God of war and Spider-Man also utterly brilliant. The Black Friday deals will start soon so I would hang on a few days.

If you follow the story in games then really you do need to play the first.

Having said that, the story in 2 was trash. Gameplay was amazing but I felt the game goes on for 5 hours too long.

The Last of Us was the first game I played that really drew me in and made me feel like I was inside a film or something. Absolutely amazing piece of work. No way should anyone miss out on playing it.

TLoU2 on the other hand just does not appeal, despite the even better technical stuff coming from moving on a generation.

Got a Curry's PS5 "VIP" code and went to pay for my order yesterday, promised to receive it by Christmas.

Anyone used the above system? How reliable is it?
I don't particularly want to give Curry's PC World some free funding if I end up getting the console in 6 months!

In terms of games, I've got my eye on Hitman 3 and Mortal Kombat 11, any good?
