Consensus seemed to be that if you liked 5 and wanted more of the same then buy 6. I did and was pretty happy with it. Plenty of stuff to keep you occupied outside of the main story line.
If you want to try it cheaply try something like Boomerang rental, I'm not a member but a colleague at work is very happy, couple of games a month for a small sub.

Ordered, sounds good to me.If you want to try it cheaply try something like Boomerang rental, I'm not a member but a colleague at work is very happy, couple of games a month for a small sub.
Although I'm going to be playing it on an Xbox One S, so hopefully it can maintain 30fps at whatever resolution, I'd imagine 720p

Anyone got it? Big fan of 5, 4 and 3. But heard mixed opinions on 6. Seems they've gone the Just Cause route of mindless violence and explosions. Are there still interesting side quests, easter eggs and collectibles worth exploring for?
Got it, loved 2 3 4 and 5, managed 30 minutes and just not clicked That said, with all the others I took an age to get into them.
Now I’ve got some time I’m going to give it a go.
I agree, my favourite games are Far Cry games but this has been a huge disappointment.
I find it far too over complicated to have to decide which ammunition to use for each baddie as using armour piercing ammunition on a person not wearing armour means they can take 5 rounds to the face and walk off. That's just completely immersion breaking and I have no idea why they thought it'd be a good addition.
Also immersion breaking for me are the other protagonists. It's a revolution in a tropical dictatorship; I really can't see a guerrilla army being made up of folk collected from the pineapple dance studio. I appreciate why such a change has been made to be more inclusive and I'm annoyed at myself for feeling this way but I also feel in being more inclusive the developers are excluding the folk who want the fantasy of the protagonist and team being double hard b
ds who gain following and power as the story progresses.
Similar to what was said above, I struggled with Far Cry 5 and put it down for about a year but when I went back it became easily one of my all time favourite games. I genuinely hope I do the same with this.

I use the shotgun that you find on the oil platform, then a silenced sniper rifle and the guided missile launcher.
The shotgun 1 shot kills most baddies - I aim for headshots.
Same here, pretty much the same loadout. The shotgun 1 shot kills most baddies - I aim for headshots.
Captured all the military bases already, most of the checkpoints, maxed out my player level, and only really just started on the second group to recruit.
Getting a bit repetitive so not sure how long I'll stick with it now.
Well i'm only about 4 hours in but enjoying it so far. It actually looks and plays well on a base Xbox One. The menus are a big convoluted but I'm learning how to get around them. The ammo types don't bother me, and certainly aren't new to this game. Maybe new to the Far Cry series but lots of other games require various ammo types.
I've spent most of my time exploring the starter island, only done 3 main missions so far. Just unlocked the parachute

The stats & customisation on the weapons is better than 5, but the different bullet types are a waste of time when a headshot with an AP round solves all problems.
Skill tree is replaced with clothing, so you end up in a Cyberpunk situation where your character looks ridiculous because you want certain perks. Also means you're limited in the number of perks you have active at any one time.
You also don't have weapons slots as such, you have access to all your weapons all the time, so can just change them on the fly, which ruins the immersion somewhat.
The map is bigger, but feels emptier than 5.
Personally, I prefer 3/4/5 to 6. It was ok, but once I'd finished I went back to have another playthrough of 5

I'm sure there's another thread for FC6..
Anyway, can't argue with any of the above, for my sins I'm playing it through for the second time, I'm enjoying it, but I've accepted that:
It's not as good as FC5 graphically despite it being supposedly 'next gen'.
The economy of the game is a terrible mixture of New Dawn and FC5.
The controls, are just stupid. I'm still playing in a terrible mixture of somethings having reversed vertical look/steer and some not because it seems impossible to have it all the same.
I can't be bothered to follow the story. The 3rd person element is stupid, I mean why? I just means a lot of invisible walls and awkwardly trying to navigate bases.
The Map is huge, but mostly featureless.
I really can't understand why anyone would want to play the Commander missions? Why do you have to wait 60 seconds to start a boring turn based adventure.
There's a really surprising lack of variety of NPC and vehicles, buildings largely look the same as does the scenery, which only adds to the feeling they went for a huge map that sounds good on paper to sell the game.
As above, it's terrible, but also quite fun. Once I worked out you can swap weapons in the pause menu (which sort of make the idea of a limited loadout redundant) I didn't worry about the ammo so much. I tend to spec AP for most things and concentrate on headshots. Full-auto is useless anyway so you might as well take aimed shots. I've got explosive bullets for an M60 for copters and stuff, oh and incendiaries for the SPAS 12 for a laugh.
