PS5. 30 FPS....
Discussion
Bit late to the PS5 party but decided to install Ratchet & Clank after picking one up.
It turns out to have all the eye candy on and not have it look a bit naff on a 4K TV by lowering the res, it's locked at 30 FPS.
I know you need to spend a few quid to get a PC to sing and dance, but good grief, 60 FPS has been the goal for decades.
Sure, you get "options" in the game to set it at 60 fps by making it look worse, but honestly, why did they even bother to create a game which leaves out one of the most rewarding aspects for players and one which we could achieve and enjoy probably 30 years ago?
I bet the 'PC Master Race' boys love this one!

When you consider that it’s using an APU, in a compact footprint and with reasonable power and thermal targets, 30fps at 4k is pretty impressive, especially early in the console’s life (though this isn’t such a big factor now with the PC derived consoles).
To get 4k60 on PC still needs a GPU that pulls as much power as the whole console, and costs quite a bit more for that one component. In game detail may well be higher - as it should be!

You can play at 60 FPS and 4k
.
In fact I'm playing Ghost of Tsushima on those settings right now, and Spiderman and God of War are capable too.
Are you playing PS5 titles or running PS4 games on a PS5?
Edit: just re-read the OP and saw you're playing Ratchet and Clank, you need to turn Ray Tracing off to get both 4K and 60 FPS.

Actually, we do love it - being able to sit on the sofa and play games that look closer to the performance of a good PC than ever before, on a console that costs relatively little is great. There has never been a better time to be into gaming.

Sure, in terms of hardware. But I'd argue the best time to be a gamer in terms of the quality of games (and the volume of quality games) to be from 1998-2005ish.
Of course, there have been absolutely dozens of incredible games since 2005, and the indy scene has exploded, but personally, I think that AAA releases were in their prime in this area where developers were pushing the limits to what was possible and not playing it safe with the same generic gameplay loops in every game.
