Best old football game for old consoles
Discussion
What's the best football game for an old console - either PS3 or Wii U?
Something that can be picked up for very little cost second hand and something that's good for two people to play.
Could be football, basketball, or ice hockey I guess - just something easy to pick up and sportsy.
Thanks in advance.

I know it doesn't answer the question you actually asked, but "taking the thread elsewhere" is kind of a PH trope now...
Pick up an old Sega Megadrive with an Italia 90 cartridge. View is "top-down" only, but lots of fun. Super clunky gameplay, dogs
t graphics, repetitive music and sound effects, no distracting player names, crowds, or management nonsense. Just plain old fashioned "getting the ball in the net is all that matters" fun.
I think I may even dig my old Megadrive out of the garage and see if it still works now...

That era, Pro Evo.
Yep, this. In fact you've reminded me about my time living away at uni. I house shared with a Spaniard and he was the most inherently racist person I'd ever encountered and we'd play Pro Evo on the PSOne. He would always be Barcelona (go figure) and before each game he'd sub all the black players for white ones. What annoyed him is that I used to be quite good at it so would always beat him but what annoyed him the most is that I'd always choose to play as Jamaica

Dino Dini's "Kick off 2" was similar at the time but more zoomed in to the pitch. Similar challenging skill wise. Have you tried it?
I used to absolutely love playing Kick off 2 with my mate on the Amiga, and it was a cracking game. I've always been a big fan of Pro Evo as well. Ruskie said:
Agree though, amazing game on the mega drive. Applying aftertouch to shots was incredible!
The aftertouch on MicroProse soccer on the C64 was a right laugh too! I used to also love playing Tehkan World Cup with the speedball(trackball) in the arcades years ago as well. I've always enjoyed a fun football game for sure.

Ahh Kick Off, loved it!Best thing about it, you could load in your team from Player Manager onto it and play with your own team.
Pretty forward thinking for it’s day

Can't believe this was the first post. The second most significant football game of my childhood.
For me FIFA 95 was the game changer in terms of the graphics, game play, additional background features, the soundtrack - Fatboy Slim. I spent hours on that.
