I took a punt on this, having never played a game like it and never owning a Switch game before (it's my wife's console) I'm more of an Xbox gamer..

So glad I did, it's beautiful and brilliant. Recommended.

I really want a Switch just for this game, just can't justify it currently. They do not come down in price!

That's interesting.

Mrs R and myself bought a Switch for Christmas, mainly to play through the telly. Mrs R isn't really into gaming whereas I can while away time on the Xbox happily. We bought it with 3 Mario related games and I deliberately avoided the Zelda game because I just assumed it was some sort of childish (says the guy with the Mario games) kids adventure. Just looking at some quick reviews after reading this seems like I've maybe got it wrong.

Great little console, took me ages to find one for Christmas 2020, whereas I just walked into Argos to collect my Series X that I spent about 30 minutes trying to find one.

We have Mario Kart, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing (for the wife of course) and now Zelda- dare I say it we have more fun with the Switch then anything that's available on the Xbox. I don't play too much of any of them as they are not mine but Zelda will definitely have me addicted I feel!

Great game but does get a bit climbing simulator at times.

Find it significantly harder than previous zelda games and lynels are by far the most difficult enemy in the game including bosses.

Can't wait for the new one.

I got a Switch Lite and this game for Xmas. Big gamble as I wasn’t sure I’d like it and worried it would just be a weird childish boring game that I would never play. However, I’m hooked on it and have had many hours of fun. It’s very charming and addictive. Playing it makes you feel good. You can lose hours in it.

Could buy a Wii U on gumtree and BOTW. Play it through and sell it all for the same money a couple of months later. I have the Wii u and the switch version and both are enjoyable.
