Controlling a PS3 and Xbox360 with a keyboard and mouse

Is this possible? Is there a dongle that can be used? Do they work okay or is there a lag? Any recommendations?

Primarily for first person shooters (only a select few have native mouse/keyboard support on the PS3).

on the Xbox you definitely can. No idea re PS3

When I was on PS4 there were some people using the XIM adapter on shooters for KB&M, turned you to beast mode compared to players with controllers if you are good at using it.
I think you can get it for PS3 as well.

Thanks, XIM adapters going for strong money so will keep looking for something cheaper.

On PS3 you could also try ps move instead, I'm guessing they can be picked up cheap now on auction sites, you can get a gun casing for it as well.

Another bug bear when I was playing shooters on PS3, were people using ps move.
It snaps to target instantly, snipers using it would be pretty much unbeatable against controller players.
