Amazons sale has this for 1/4 off, it looks good with a very nice FOV & Ive seen good reviews BUT does it need a ton of other stuff to work?Ive seen mention of extra cables, controllers & so on. Does it really need these, can I repurpose my Occulus Rift controllers & trackers for use? Or should I just stick with the Rift?

A friend has this and he has a big beefed up pc running it and needs a docking station or something like that but because he only does sim racing he don't have any controllers. Amazing fov but for what it is I would say ott depends your purchase.

I upgraded from a rift s to a g2 and difference was night and day with clear vision and sound tho rift felt bit better with fov the g2 is allot clearer and comfortable.

Tempted to upgrade from my OG Vive to this, especially as I have all the base stations etc ready to go.

Really torn by the reviews online though, apparently the FOV is a gamechanger but the headset does have it's issues. Tempted to go for this and if it's crap maybe a Vive Pro 2 as Amazon has some open box headset only for a similar price.

Are the Pimax outside-in tracking? I'd love better FoV, but I like the ease of use with the Rift's inside-out tracking.

I think it does both, inside out standard but works with steam base stations as well for outside-in

Bugger it, ordered it to give it a try. Handy hint that isn't super obvious, you can get a free thicker face pad and silicone protector thing with it, look for promotions underneath the "add to basket" button - probably wouldn't have bought them but a spare face pad is handy and the cover, well it's free.

Will let you know how I get on with it!
