4 track HDMI recording?
Discussion
I thought maybe this would be a better forum than the Computer/Gadget one for this question-
I want to record the HDMI outputs from 4 cameras simultaneously, for editing afterwards into a YouTube video. There appear to be various solutions available, the one I'm drawn to is the Blackmagic DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder card. I already use BMD Davinci Resolve editing software.

I'd like to have a monitor output that would show me the output from whichever was the main camera at any point while recording I don't have any 4K cameras at the moment (might do in the future), and I'll be recording 25fps, so the unit above would seem to be a bit more than I need, and quite pricy too.
I'm very open to other suggestions
TIA

Have a look at the Atem Mini Pro ISO (not the non-ISO version):

ISO recording is where you record all the sources cameras going into a vision mixer as well as the output - although I realise you didn't ask for a mixer. This device will take four HDMI sources in & output five H.264 streams to be recorded & it will even save a DaVinci Resolve project ready for you to edit the material.

Just record the footage straight to storage on the camera itself and then import all the video after.
That's what I do at the moment, I don't want to do it that way anymore. It's fiddly and tedious, plus most cameras will split a long recording into smaller files, which is also something I'm looking to avoid.Mr Pointy said:

I've been investigating that since you mentioned it, and it seems to be perfect for what I need. I especially like the idea of recording straight onto an SSD.https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/products/atemm...

Thanks
Well, I bought one (Blackmagic Design Atem Mini Pro Iso). f
king brilliant. It does exactly what was wanted, and could do more if I wanted to do any streaming, and while it's doing it, it tells me on the monitor exactly what it's doing, including showing me how much space remains on the external SSD.
It's nice when you buy a piece of equipment to do a particular job and it just does it, without any issues. Doesn't always happen.
