I will play it after I'm done with Octopath Traveller II, despite being pretty lukewarm witg Forbidden West by the end. I'm sure it will be a decent jaunt and I'm interested to see how it will look, with it being made exclusively for PS5.

Will be shortly after wrapping a GoW NG+ run. Frozen Wilds for HZD was noticeably tougher than the base HZD so I'm not surprised. I'm guessing Guerilla are positioning the difficulty based on assuming that given when it occurs in the timeline you're going to be well geared and experienced.

It is ok - not as advanced as I was hoping.

Big area, but not all that much in it. Not many new machines,

Not harder than the base game (unlike Frozen Wilds).

I found it a little harder. Yes agree it is a lot of water - not sure yet if there is much underwater exploration to engage in as well.

It was adequate for a DLC. Now I am looking forward to the 3rd game.

I bought this expansion, and have just tried to play it. However, I now know I do not like the sequel to the original fantastic game so much, and turned it off.

I feel Horizon: Zero Dawn is like the original Star Wars, and the sequel more like the awful Disney version - stunning visuals, but that's it.

Overall - it's okay if you want more of the same - it's like an overly-long side quest that doesn't really add anything to the main story. The fact that PS4 owners can't even play it makes it even more odd (I have a stong hunch why they did it but it doesn't really matter - the next installment in the franchise will answer that).

Well I think we can safely say that the final game (the next one) will be PS5 only.

I honestly can't see the "huge step" in gaming with this expansion though to "explain" why it was PS5 only.... But I am enjoying the weapons !!

There will be PC ports of FW/BS and the final installments.

Finished this up a couple of days ago. I seem to have played a different DLC to the majority of the Internet! I've read the comments about it being short (some people completing it in 5 hours apparently), I've seen the drama about that CHOICE at the end and I've seen the debate around lack of content.

Firstly I got near enough 30 hours out of it. I did everything, leaving two achievements not earned. I played it on very hard without aim assist.

The main story arc I thought was very good given the context of this being a DLC. The building of the relationship between the 2 main characters seemed to be done well although I concede I may have got more of the backstory/exposition/inside track due to completing everything.

The final showdown was excellent and delivered on the hope/expectations around what fighting one of those machines should be like.

The new machines were, I thought, a good addition. Fighting the apex variant in the cauldron was suitably challenging. I know there's been some debate about whethe the stingspawns should count as new machines - personally I'm fine with that, they can (and do exist) without the delivery machine being around.

The new traversal option in the world and showcased in the cauldron definitely feels a version 1.0 - it's janky and can be frustrating. The same is true of the grapple strike which I definitely found to be a great addition but a bit too prone to not working at times.

This DLC was definitely light on immediately visible content - I've seen some dialog around this being an intentional choice by Guerilla to test a move away from the Ubisoft map marker salad approach. If you go looking there's content; the cauldron, the Oseram delvers series, the Pangea figurines and the Ariel Captures.

This felt like Guerilla trying out some changes to guage response. Personally I found little to be frustrated or disappointed about. I struggle to understand the review bombing for that specific choice and people completing it in 5 hours must be doing so by missing out every peice of optional content and skipping dialog/cut scenes.

So a "fan-boy" right, a Guerilla "simp" - no there's still problems; the jank around traversal, the weapon/ammo choice desperately needs to be curated, the combat can feel slow, shelters in places you've not visited yet, a skill tree that similar to weapon/ammo needs curation to distill out the essence.

Lastly, sad to think this is the last time we'll see and hear Sylens. Nice call out during the end credits and those few scenes with him reminded me (you) just what a great job Lance Reddick did to portray one of the most interesting characters in the franchise.

Sorry yes I should have been more specific - I meant no PS4 option/version so they can run better graphics, larger maps etc
