So normally I buy a basic pc with the essentials I need and then add stuff to it like extra memory ,graphics cards etc but for a change I think I’m going to go for a pre built one .
I have bought from scan in the past but who else is worth considering ?
I’m not going mental but want something that will be relatively future proof ,I mean I am running a1060 gtx currently and that plays 99% of current games so thinking along the lines of a 3060ti card or similar .
I’m very out of touch with the whole thing so any pointers welcome .

I'd normally say take a look at ebuyer, but what they have doesn't look great.

I know you want a pre-built but definitly consider putting something together yourself. Especially if you have components you can move over.

Just can’t be bothered with self build and this pc is now about ten years old so everything is just a bit outdated and most not worth keeping .

A few years back I bought a built system from chillblast pc. (8700k, GTX1080, 16gb ddr4, nvme etc.)

For the price I was happy with the build. Check their website out.

Cheers

Whilst I'll happily recommend PC Specialist, I'd not recommend their pre-builts (from them direct, or Currys/Littlewoods), as you will find some of the builds have 1 or 2 named premium components but the others may not have an headroom built into them for future upgrades...so you end up with a slightly cheaper PC initially, but either have to buy a whole new machine or rebuild it with a new PSU a couple of years down the line when you decide to put a power-hungry GPU in, as it will have been built with an 'office-spec' non-modular, Corsair CV PSU, which will have about 10% headroom and won't support newer/more power connectors.

Perfectly good machine. I've never heard of your power supply manufacturer before but it's not that big a deal. Ideally you would have a Corsair or EVGA equivalent but if that's the full spec on offer, it's more than good enough for plenty gaming. Go for it.

I've used both Overclockers.co.uk and Scan.co uk over the past 10-15 years after I stopped building my own back in the mid-late 2000's.

Both have been very good and I would recommend either but recently Scan have been just a little bit cheaper or had a little better spec for the same price.

Nice - what changes did you go for? That machine will give you plenty gaming action

I got a good deal via Amazon on an HP Omen awhile ago, so it's definetly worth having a quick look on there.

These guys seem expensive now, but years ago I bought my gaming PC from Cyberpower, their US reviews are awful with many complaints but their UK team have been great with any interactions I've had.

Systems now very much unoriginal with only the case, motorboard and cpu still matching the original invoice... building PC's is quite fun imo smile

I just bought an off the shelf system from Scan. Can't fault it.

Was £850 for Ryzen 5500 and an RTX3060 card.

What's the thoughts on this?

Looking at the Dominus X model. Undercooled? Any weak links in the hardware?
