Ps. PC players, KCD2 is using DLSS 3.7.2, so update the game's nvngx_dlss.dll file to the latest version for increased performance from the techpowerup DLSS database as the game isn't yet recognised in the Nvidia app or any dlss updater.
Thank you sir, had a quick blast last night and I'm looking forward to pulling myself up from the gutter again.FourWheelDrift said:
Anyone noticed the difference between Ultra and Experimental graphics settings? Apart from a drop in frames.
I've got a 3090 and it selected Ultra for me, not tried with the experimental settings though. Did spend half an hour making horseshoes and axe heads yesterday, plus another half hour brewing potions. Cobbled together a half decent set of armour and found a pretty tasty longsword in an uncovered grave, so feel pretty set for whatever comes at me now.

Is anyone playing this on PS5? I'm really intrigued by this game and would like to give it a go (didn't play the first) and would be interested to know how it's performing early doors, or whether to wait a bit for creases to be ironed out etc? Cheers
If you havent played the first, I would suggest picking it up and giving it a go. I am pretty sure you will probably be able to get it for around £10. Its a great game, relatable main character (continues his journey in 2) and a compelling story arc. Honestly a stand out game for me. Sure there were some bugs, but nothing that detracted from the game. The story of 1 sets up the characters, and story which is carried on in 2.moustachebandit said:

Also a much cheaper way to work out if it's for you or not, it's a very easy one to bounce off, due to how realistic and difficult it can be. I personally love the depth it goes into and the real struggle to both learn the systems and gather enough good gear to have a good chance of survival, but it's definitely not for everyone.Downloading it now!
I really enjoyed the first one and had many many hours of great fun with it.
Should have put it on to download before going out to watch the rugby, as my internet speed here is poor.
So so looking forward to going out causing chaos in the KCD:II game
It does look brilliant. More of the same but better. The reviews I have watched make it look amazing!
Hoping my laptop should run it in high graphics settings *fingers crossed*.

It finished downloading and am playing it now. So far it feels great! And runs really well on the laptop, so that is pleasing too. I know what I'm doing tomorrow!I really enjoyed the first one and had many many hours of great fun with it.

I'm playing on PS5, there's some odd shadows in some cut scenes, and some audio stutters I've encountered which was surprisingly poor tbh, but the game itself runs well and I haven't encountered any actual bugs.
Some of the voice acting must be at least partially AI generated as it's occasionally atrocious, looking at you Innkeeper Betty

The swordplay feels much more approachable than the first one, although that may just be a reflection of the fact you're the same character and thus not starting out the game completely inept at everything
Have put about 15 hours into it so far. Really enjoyed hunting down bandit camps to gear up and get money from selling their loot and horses. The combat is very satisfying once you get a decent sword and learn Master Strike.
The visuals and sound design are stunning and make for a very immersive game.

FYI : Regarding the blacksmith and making hunting swords, horseshoes and axes at the start to build your smithing skills and get some money. If you didn't know it's just the number of hits you need to make before it's done. You don't need to turn the iron blade over to do the other side and if you are quick you can do it from one single heating in the furnace.
