Just a general question, I want to introduce some games to my girlfriend, and she has been hesitant to try some more classic ones like COD or LOL (don't blame her). Maybe there are some recommendations for some that we could both enjoy?

What's that game called where you have to give each other detailed instructions on how to defuse a bomb wink

Are you looking for two player co-operative games? PC or console? Most games I play are 3-4 player co-op games on PC with friends these days.

Payday 2 - 1-4 players doing a bank robbery, we played it loads but it got a bit samey. Stealth and/or shooting
Total War - can't remember which ones in the series are multiplayer, we play Warhammer 3
Borderlands - think they're all multiplayer and are great fun, 1 is getting a bit old but 2, TPS and 3 are still holding up

Local stuff, Gauntlet, Granturismo 7, Resident Evil (I think 5 and 6); Broforce (amazing old skool feel).

Helpful to know if console or PC. Console works well for two players playing together, I don't have a PC for gaming but they're not really set up for that in the same way.

I've been trying to find games to play with my older kids (12+13). We play on PS5 and I want split (or same) screen games. Co-op games work pretty well, had decent fun with them playing It Takes Two. Other games that we've played include (lots of) Fifa, The Ascent and Fortnite

Lots of co-op games require you to play on two different devices, which isn't what I wanted.

Might be worth looking at a MMO such as the 'original' World of Warcraft (can't remember what the relaunched old version is called).

Fortnite

It Takes Two, unravel 2. Human fall flat and Minecraft Dungeons were also decent.

Split Fiction, now only 30 quid on Amazon, the best two player game ever, followed by it takes Two, try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Playing through Split Fiction at the moment here with my daughter, can confirm it's amazing! Likewise It Takes Two.

There's another thread here somewhere about co-op games - I'm always on the hunt for new ones.

Rayman Legends is spectacular.
Untitled Goose Game has a fun co-op mode.

This. It Takes Two, Split Fiction, both brilliant couch co-op games.

Rayman Legends - so much fun.

There's A Way Out too, but I've not tried that yet as my son is only 12.

Baldurs Gate 3, fantasy RPG Turn Based game with an absolutely incredible story. In my opinion it's one of the best games of all time, being turn based you don't necessarily need to be "good" at games to play as you can take your time making decisions for both dialogue and combat. The in game world is huge, and full of events and choices which can affect the ultimate outcome of the story. I've sunk over 100 hours into the game, and i'm still not finished with the story, and i'm looking forward to a 2nd play through to make different choices and try different characters and abilities. I start playing split screen with my wife, and you can jump in and out of 2 player during the story so you don't both need to be present to play if one of you wants some solo play time

I keep thinking about buying this, and it sounds great from what you've described. Do you play on console or PC? I'd ideally play on MacBook but not sure how well it plays (M3 Pro 18GB)

My wife started on PC, then played again with me on the PS5 when I started my campaign. I've not tried the PC version but I believe it was originally intended to be a PC only game so it works well. That being said the PS5 version is also excellent
