So I've not been into gaming since the Xbox 360 days, recently I've had a hankering to get back into it and started looking at PS5 consoles.

I'm a bit confused which one to get, I know I want a disk version but which one out of the Slim, Standard and Pro?

I'd honestly go for whichever one you find is the cheapest, which would probably be the standard one. As a casual gamer, I don't think the extra cost of the pro would be worth it (doubt you would even notice the difference, not many could!) and the slim is exactly the same just but a smaller carcass at an extra cost. Definitely go with the disk version though as you can pick up 2nd hand games for cheap rather than paying a fortune for downloads.

I'd agree a standard one would be fine although for accuracies sake the standard is actually now discontinued and replaced with the Slim.

Additionally the slim disc version is actually identical to the digital as the disc drive is now an add on device, the digital slim just has a blanking plate where the drive attached, a bit like an 80s Ford 😃

So the answer depends wether you want to spend for a new one or happy to consider 2nd hand

Probably go to CEX for a used standard one because they give a decent warranty, 2 years I believe.

Thanks everyone, standard seems to be the way to go. Does look like the standard version is available new at places, Argos have bundle stock

The CEX warranty is 5 years. Its £380 for a boxed (basically mint) PS5 original version with a disc drive already built in.

The 5 year warranty is better than buying one new from Sony.

That’s actually really good, I might just do that
