Xbox best current racing game?
Discussion
Hey folks, not played a good old racing game for ages and want to scratch the itch. Is Forza still the "go to"? I fired up Horizons but it's a bit juvenile for me so looking for something a bit more "real" and less about music and stunts.
I saw Rennsport, that looks interesting? Anyway, basic question is maybe what's the latest/best/game that people are still playing?
Cheers in advance

Not played Rennsport but have wasted a significant time on lots of other Xbox games!!
My current favourite is Project Motor Racing, despite the shaky launch, the recent updates have made much more solid. Still loads of work to do, but I've just did a 10 laps race at Spa in PMR directly after a 10 laps on Le Mans Ultimate which is regarded as one of the best PC Sims, and honestly PMR felt just as fun/good
.
I've put loads of hours in Forza, had the original one on the original X box and played just about every variant, it looks much better than either PMR or LMU, loads more cars and track but there is just something missing from it. Since getting a cheapo steering wheel I've not touched it.
If you are on a controller than Forza is a safe bet but for some reason it's just not fun especially when compared to the PCs Sims around. PMR is definitely getting there but you really need a wheel and be prepared to put time into it.

Super helpful thank you
Edit, oof that Project Motor Racing isn't well reviewed and is pretty robustly priced. It turned out I had the latest Forza in my library (maybe from a Gamepass)? Anyway just finished downloading and had a fun first race, although I may have set the realism settings too high as I think I basically ran out of fuel and got overtaken on the final straight to finish second

Forza Motorsport is still the best IMO for a controller player - It's an arcade SIM with lots of car varietyI saw Rennsport, that looks interesting? Anyway, basic question is maybe what's the latest/best/game that people are still playing?

If you have a wheel/pedal setup but still want something arcade SIM then go for F1
IF you want something more realistic then i'd say for now the best is ACC until Project Racing sorts itself out.
^Agree Forza is best for the controller but it's leagues behind any of the 'proper' sims I've played (Le Mana Ultimate, Project Motor Racing, Assetta Corsa). Even Project Cars 2 with the wheel feels much more fun.
I'm also surprised how easy the Ai on Forza is after now playing mostly Project Motor Racing. Currently I'm trying to nail Sebring in Project Motor racing but still a couple of seconds off the with Ai at 100%. Jumped on to Forza and to my surprise after just a few practice laps and I was pretty much on pace, and the Ai is so easy to pass even on 100% you can pick up nearly a dozen places in a few laps, where as on Project Motor Racing it hard work to get a pass and than you can lose the place with by running wide in one corner.
If you have the ability to add a wheel, it's 100% worthwhile trying something other than Forza.
