So what steering wheel would be best to use on the PS2.
it needs to be good/strong, but cheap, ish.

Amazon are doing the Logitech Driving Force wheel for £24.99

It is a very good wheel that was the recommended wheel for Gran Turismo 3, and at that price you just can't go wrong either. You even qualify for free shipping from Amazon too.

Yes. Two in fact, so my son and I can play split-screen head-to-head.

It is very good. But don't take my word for it - there are plenty of reviews for it around.

See here for Amazon page.

Tis a good wheel. Good thing with the Driving Force is it will work on your PC too.

If you can afford it the Driving Force Pro is a good laugh. Adds alot more to games, though it has a few tiny little downsides but overall it's worth the extra if your into driving games/sims on PS2 and PC.

Cheers

That will mean they are out of stock and they'll be ordering from their suppliers rather than from their own stock.

When I bought mine it was 24 hours.

Hi folks, thought I'd resurect this old thread rather than start a new one.

The missus has bought me a steering wheel for my birthday (Speedster 3 Steering Wheel) which I'm gratefull for but not sure of whether its any good. What I really want is a decent force feedback wheel (which this doesn't appear to be). It looks like there are 3 good ones and I was looking for some opinion.

1)Williams F/Feedback Wheel, cant seem to find any reviews of this
2)Logitech Driving Force Ex
3)Logitech Driving Force Pro

Questions, does anybody know the williams one and how it compares with the others. Is the pro worth the extra over the Ex? Its mainly for GT4 but will be used for Burns Rally and I cant see it being used for any PC games for the forseeable future.

Comments muchly appreciated

Can't really comment much more than the DF Pro is fantastic, haven't tried the others. Is the Pro really much more? I managed to find one in the sales for £60...

You can get the Ex for about £30 and the pro for 60 as you say. The Williams is about £50 and available from Argos where the missus got the Speedster from, which minimizes hastle.

I managed to find a review of the Williams which was pretty good.

Questions, is 900degrees useful?

Well, to be honest there aren't that many times you get to use all 900degrees. Drifting isn't exactly easy on GT4 (for me) and for proper driving all you need is enough to cross your arms (180 and a bit?).

I love using 900 degrees mode (I have a driving force pro). I think its great on Richard Burns Rally, makes it much more realistic. It's also great for drifting on GT4. Most of the accompanying pedals encounter a problem after a few months but it can be easily fixed just by opening the bottom and Placing the potentiometer back into it's slot - there are tutorials on how to do this on some websites as it happens to most df pros
