My MSI 7800GT has finally arrived ! woooooo! Should be online now for GTL, BF2, Quake4.

Still trying to claim some money back after being shafted on another 7800 on ebay. Looks like i'll only get back £105 of the £163 i paid though

Anyway - hope to see you online later on, and at the weekend !

I reckon the edges of it might be sharp enough to cut somebodies throat.

or you could use the fans as morning stars.

there are the kind of suggestions you wanted, right?

Power it down (fully, don't just turn it off at the usual front panel button), remove the memory backup cell (or remove the backup jumper). Let it sit there for 5 mins to clear the memory, put the battery back and then try rebooting it.

And then hope your 7800GT isn't one like mine whose fan is on 100% all the time. It's a shame because they are great cards.

The question is: how the hell do i tell whats touching the metal underneath and what can i use to sheild the underside !?

Any suggestions guys ? i'm so close !

hmm bizarre...

it definately worked so i cut a bit of cardboard the size of the motherboard and put it underneath but its still beeping.... maybe its a seating problem?

Its got to be the motherboard surely. I cant believe the luck i am having with this pc !!

?????? Hmmm very strange - Just suspend the mobo from the wall on string for now, you can deal with the small details later...
Or post in the computer forum for a quick answer

I've lost my rag with it now. Its sitting in the corner in bits looking abandoned

I'll have a final play this weekend but other than that i'll be buying a new motherboard on pay day and trying to get rid of this one on ebay. Its got to be a dodgy slot (parp). I had it working once but after repeated attempts i cant seem to re-create the success....

I might see you next year for some GTL....
