Anybody interested in using the 'race against the clock' feature, for a named track and car (or at least class of car), for a week see who can set the fastest time type of thing, different track each week, random car class etc etc.

If all those interested are on each others friends list then you can, I think, see who has set what time from the game menus.

Might be something to do when no one else is on-line and your tired of being spun out in the live arena.

I'll pop up a track and car combo tomorrow if there's any interest.

I'll give it a blast, I'm not on Live yet though so you'll just have to take my word for it.

I'm up for that. I am hugely bored of being taken out left, right and centre on live.

OK, lets try this for starters -

Tokyo - Back to the Sun in a class E car.

Post your best time's on this thread, make sure you are in my friends list so they can be verified (Sssline) and what about an FIA points scheme -
Fastest lap 10 pts, 2nd 8pts, 3rd 6pts, 4th 5pts, 5th 4pts, 6th 3pts, 7th 2pts, 8th 1pt.

Track times upto midnight on Sunday 29th to count, will add a new thread with finishing points and new track car combo on-line by Tuesday midday next week.

Might be best to nominate a particular car that everyone uses for each event, it would stop an hours worth of messing about, trying different cars to find out which is best suited.

Just a few notes:

-For your times to be uploaded you have to be connected to live when you're doing the hot lap. Offline doesn't count.
-If you restart your session, you lose your recorded time. You have to quit the session for your time to be uploaded.
-If like me you have a bad connection, whenever you get a fast lap, quit, so that your time is recorded. (if you disconnect, you lose your time)
-Hmm, actually, I think we might have to rely on the honour system. The friends-leaderboard isn't too great. It will only display the fastest time around the circuit, regardless of class, so if someone does a lap around in the F50GT, their Class E laptime will never be shown. If nobody has done time trials before, we might be OK.

I might be wrong but I thought that you could scroll though the classes using the shoulder buttons to see the fastest time set by your friends in each class of car for that track (will check tonight to make sure)?

Naming car, can do I'm easy I guess for class E most will go Ferrari or Nissan anyway different styles can prob get a good lap time from either (or any) of the cars depending on how familiar you are with them etc, might be fun to let people try their favourite though ?

Am up for this. I will be using the F355.

Forever: Regarding the leaderboard display. If you press the "RB" button may possibly be the right trigger actually it cycles through the classes. Look in the top right-hand corner and you'll see it shows up class A, B etc etc. So as long as we are on each other's friends list and on live we can check the times.
Live ID: je33a

Will give this lap a try tonight.

Yup, sorry guys, you're right. You can change classes on the leader board with the buttons. I've been time trialing with other people and they didn't notice that

Anyway, there's still 1.8 seconds to be found somewhere, but I'll leave that until tomorrow.

By the way, how about we have three time trials each week. Then, on Sunday we have a few races on the same tracks? Maybe you get points from both? Or maybe just points from the TT with races just for bragging rights?

sorry mate, knocked you off 10th spot with a 12.01 lap. Am utterly gutted though as i clipped the barrier on the lefthand side about 10 meters before the finish. Was on the ass of the number 1 ranked player. oh well. Will try again tomorrow.

EDITED
Scrap the part about hitting the barrier on that lap. It was another lap that could have been top 3 but ended up being at 1.13 due to hitting the barrier.

1.11.82 now (8th I think). I believe that I can still get another 0.6s off my time if I can string a clean lap together, but I always make a small mistake somewhere, usually over the crest of that damn hill!

1.11.78

I was in 8th when I switched it off

I have another 2 tenths in there but just couldn't string it together in one lap

It is the hill that is ruining me

funny how we get some PHers on there and we are amongst the best. I couldn't sleep last night so had another 30 min blast at it in the f355. I was consistently ahead of the "worlds best" ghost car until the second to last corner, the left hander after the hairpin. Where I have to lift off otherwise I'd hit the barrier then each lap the ghost car would get in front of me down the last straight. My index finger hurts today from all the acceleration.
