Now that Neil has sorted out our server and we have a championship proposed to start on Sunday 5th February, how about a pre-season warmup this Sunday?

Shall we say 20 laps of Donnington Park National Circuit, GTC65 and GTC76 cars?

Qualifying starts at 8pm with the race itself at 8:30 sharp

I shall be in a white 906 with orange rear windscreen. I've been trying out the Pantera for the past few days but I just can't drive it reliably, it's too powerful and keeps throwing me off the road every few laps

The 906 is nice and light so brakes well and corners well. It only has a 2 litre engine so could do with a bit more oomph, but it's so easy to drive

I've been playing with the GT40 which is really hard to drive!

for the last few dyas I'v ebeen using the escort which seems great, but seems to snap round very easily under power... except sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't... with little warning about when. It's weird.

I tried the 906 a bit but it seems quite tricky to drive. I quite like it though.

I'm not sure there is a car I really like in the game except for the mini and the alfa, and maybe the elan. There is no equivalent of the C5R in GTR or the Ferrari in GPL for me. It's a bit weird that there isn't a car I "get".

Have you tried the Alpine Mike? It's one of the easiest to drive and corners like it's on rails, just needs a bit more power though

Oh yeah, the alpine is awesome! I love it. it's really good for harrying the yank tanks with. I'ts not really competitive at that many tracks though.

Think i'll be joining you in the 906 aswell.... Hopefully the Force Feedback Headset will be here by then

It can be tricky to drive, all depends on the track and setup.. but either way I like it

Dave.

Have yet to find a car I can get on with, but I think it's a bit like GTR in that respect, it took me ages to get good in the ferrari 550, which once I got there I loved.

Am really keen to get good in the escort, so from now on that's all i'm going to use, practice makes perfect and all that.

My back feels fine today so I think I'll be on tomorrow, just need to get some practice as I haven't run GTL since way before Christmas.

The escort is definitely my favourite car, very tough to master but rewarding when you get it right. I've just managed an 8.48.7 round the nordschleife and I don't think I can get much more out of the car round there.

Has to be the 906 for me. I spent a few hours trying out a load of cars and have to say that, for me, the 906 is more consistent and less likely to throw me off the road. I can go quicker in others, but too often get them out of shape.

All I have to do now is be quick enough to catch everyone before everyone says and disappear in to the distance

think i'll stick with the De Tomaso, it is a handfull but I like that in a car.

I can deal with people being quicker round a corner than me, I'm having fun in that corner drifting etc, but could not deal with people blowing me away on the straights

might change car on the tighter circuits mind

see you tonigt for the prelim then (will make the last of qualy (8.20ish)

Danwebster - Is there a full length 'Nurburgring' for GTL? must have missed that one

will make the last of qualy (8.20ish)

Giving it a miss tonight, as I've only just remembered what my online password was it's been so long since I've used it and being a Morse fan I want to watch the one off "Lewis" tonight.

Have fun

You missed a great race FWD! As usual Ian won, he was the only person who could keep it together for 10 laps! PV and I both crashed

Just out of interest but what cars do people choose (the 65GTC and 76GTC choices) I might choose something someone else doesn't use, and lap times around Donington National?

I am stuck with the same dilemma FWD. Almost everyone last night had a 911 or a 906. 1:16 or thereabouts were the fastest laps round donny in the 911.

I don't want to drive a car that everyone else drives but I can't think of another car I'd rather drive!

Me to Davy, 8 laps in battling to catch and pass you and Ian whent for the pass on the dunlop straight and lost it on that rise where it goes light? felt a right idiot

how does everyone feel about a summary for the league race each week?

ie everyone send me their break down of what happened in the race, then I'll put it into some kind of order & post it in the 'league' topic.

Might be handy if I/we can get the replay of each race so we have some form of verification for events

GPL used to do a summary but was quite 'Matt' in its finish, but doing it ourselves we could do a 'Gloss' version

or is there a programme that will do this?

thoughts.........

Back when FWD was running the show he used to post a brilliant results page with all sorts of graphs and charts, was perfect for seeing which lap I threw it off and went back to last place.

One assumes the same results are available for GTL...
