My gamer tag is kiwi - I never got around to getting v2 of Moto GP, but have Project Gotham 2 and several others. Midtown Madness 3 is a blast - a much better game on Live than it is playing solo.

Any other PHers with X-Box Live? Would be good to get a bit of a list together and set up some games...

Should be on-line soon.

I've just had my Broadband put in and have an Xbox Live kit on my Christmas list.

Cheers,
Nick

How does it work with Broadband? Does it just plug into the ADSL modem?

AllTorque - the Xbox has an ethernet port at the back of it. If your broadband access device is a router then it's as easy as plugging it directly in to that or a hub if you're short of ports.

If you are using a USB modem that plugs into your PC then there's a bit more to set up, but still quite straightforward.

All the details here:

I've been playing PGR2 and have all silvers, working on golds but it's becoming more frustrating than fun! My hopes of obtaining the Speed 12 are quickly vanishing...

Gamertag: black monday

I'm also an avid Rainbow Six 3 fanatic so I'll see you on Live in the near future.

Good to see a couple of PHers online in the last couple of days. Following up on my earlier post about this - I got Action Reply yesterday and it is well worth the money IMHO. For PGR2 this means no more driving on ghost tracks, and choice of all cars - brilliant

I've nothing to do with this company BTW.

Action Replay is the reason I no longer play PGR2 on Live. Cheaters and hacks have ruined many Live games so far and it only took a couple weeks for them to degrade the Live experience in PGR2 It's a shame that people can't play fairly.

I'm sorry you feel that way black monday. You're entitled to your opinion and I can see your point of view if people use this sort of product unfairly - as no doubt some do. It's not my intention to exploit an unfair advantage or spoil the experience for others.

I don't like playing against the computer - it is boring and I really can't be arsed doing hours and hours of racing that just isn't fun. I do enjoy competing on Live but that experience is spoiled by being a ghost on tracks you haven't unlocked and not being able to race in a competitive car. If I didn't get Action Replay then I would already be close to moving on from PGR2.

But used sensibly and fairly I don't think this should be a problem. Most of the racing I'm doing is restricted class because that's the best racing - for example last night I played with a brilliant group of guys and we all had the same car for every race - everything from Coopers to the Porsche GT1. I didn't use the Speed 12 or any other exotica that they didn't have. I'm quite open about how I have these cars and so far I've found people don't seem to mind - certainly last night my "cheating" didn't detract from their enjoyment.

I can understand how very annoying it would be for those like yourself who have grafted (with skill) through the stupefying experience of the solo play to then be beaten in a Live race by someone less capable in something like the awesome Speed 12. I was probably guilty of that the first hour or two when I was trying out different cars, but I don't do that at all now - it isn't fun and it isn't fair.

I can understand your point of view as well and why you chose to cheat to unlock the cars and tracks.

I have chose the honest path so if you ever see me on Live please respect that.

So who is up for a bit of PGR2 tonight. I've only just started playing so don't have many cars but I'm keen to have a few on-line races. My tag is British Lion.

Cheers,

I would, but in a fit of short sighted generosity I gave my copy to the GF's bro who enjoyed it so much during Xmas, and haven't got the replacement yet... add me to your friends list though - "kiwi"
