Todays Metro paper ran a story that TOCA 3 has a full reproduction of the M25 Motorway including traffic etc on the road to weave through. Have checked online but found no reference or screenshots. Has anyobdy with the game managed to unlock this?

I've never heard of this one either, or seen anything close in the game.

It was in todays Metro free newspaper which is distributed in the Manchester area. I've got the copy at work, will take a photo or scan tomorrow.

It showed a screenshot, with traffic (could see what looked like a Landrover and a punto) with a overhead gantry which said "120" as the speed in each lane. There was also a matrix sign which had the message "speed thrills" together with sign posts which said A1 Pitstop?.

According to the text, it said codemasters had modelled the entire M25 and people were upset that this might make poeple go out and race around it. It mentioned about when the M25 first opened that people would race during the night until the cops stopped them. It said in the game, you could lap the M25 in 42 minutes.

Hope they got their facts right!

Bad news, found the Metro website and the story is here.

www.metro.co.uk/home/article.html?in_article_id=10521&in_page_id=1

However, there is a note at the end, they made a mistake and the M25 section is going to be in TOCA4 to be relased later this year. I'm pissed, I went out and bought the game today for the M25 section!

LOL, if you go to the weblink and click on comments, you'll really kill yourself. Below is a quote from one of them!

quote ----

Yes. This game should be banned. It is an utter disgrace that this sort of filth is freely available to the children of today. I think the sensible approach would be to prevent the production and sale of the consoles that these so-called "games" are played on - that is the only way that we can stop copycat incidents where young children take to the streets to act out the exploits of the latest fad game character. I don't know why people today feel the need to stay indoors staring at their TV's anyway - in my day we'd have months of fun with nothing more than a skipping rope, some old tea bags and a large brown sack, and there wasn't any of this street-racing malarkey going on I can tell you that much.

EDITOR'S NOTE, 5.50pm Thursday, March 2: Codemasters apologises for the error in our report. The feature allowing players to drive around a virtual M25 will appear on ToCA Race Driver 4, which is due for release at the end of this year or early next year.
Convenient error! Wonder how many people rushed out and bought that game today

Is it just me, or does racing around the M25 sound very very Dull. Not a reason to by a game if you ask me.

I don't think the M25 and "Racing Game" go together - unless of course Toca is going to include a special traffic jam simulator!

Oh thank god you noticed too - I was worried that there'd been a huge sense of humour bypass on here.

Bill Carr is quite clearly having a laugh.

an interesting concept would be to have the whole m25 in an online game with hundreds of individual drivers each just doing there own thing ,like real life but with the added bonus of immortality.
