couple more questions...
When you get a bounty, is the bounty for that town - ie can you have more than one bounty on your head at a time with different guards?

Also, im assuming you dont get any experience for enemies killed by conjured scamps, does anyone know for sure?

Finally, ive not murdered anyone yet I wont get banned from any guilds if I do murder someone will I, and I assume I wont get a bounty unless I get caught?

The bounty is worldwide. Any guards that see you will come after you, best way to get rid of the bounty is to speak to one of the thieves guild chaps who will do it for half price and you can keep your stolen goods, otherwise the guards will send you to jail, or take a big wadge of cash for the fine and you lose all your stolen items either way.

Conjure skeleton can probably be bought at the arcane university once you have all the mage guild recommendations.

Murdering someone, you can murder pretty much anyone, but anyone who is vital to a quest will usually only get knocked unconscious if you try to kill them. My first murder was the final arena combatant as i'd done a quest for him (told him who his real father was) and he didn't fight back at all, so killing him was murder, the dark brotherhood came and gave me a quest the next time I went to sleep in an inn.

I swear Ive already seen the conjour skeleton somewhere, but after revisting everywhere I cant seem to find it. The scrimp thing (can never remember its name) only lasts 20 seconds, but makes a formidable companion (for a level 7 fighter)

I summoned the imp/scrimp creature and murdered a lady in the forest - I assume there are only a limited number of people in the game, and killing someone means they are gone forever - ie are you sure it's a good thing if I go round murdering everyone?

I wouldn't murder everyone, you only need to murder one to start the dark brotherhood quest. Are you sure the woman in the forest was an innocent though and not a bandit out to rob you?

Positive, I just didnt sleep

Joined the thieves guild today - Im sure one of their laws was not to murder people. Can I murder someone whose house Ive been robbing, or are you just not supposed to murder people who they send you on quests to rob?

You're safe to murder people when you're in the thieves guild, so long as you're not on one of their special missions (rather than just out stealing random loot)

Cheers. I read the manual which teaches you a thing or two, like the health of enemies above the cross hair (totally missed that!) Did you mange to get your speachcraft up to 50, using the thumb twiddle technique?

Sure did bob, speechcraft is pretty high now.

Best bit of advice i've discovered recently is the foolproof (almost) guide to lockpicking:
Keep poking the tumblers up and watch the speed when they come back down, if it drops down slowly and spends some time up the top then keep going, however if it drops straight back down once you've pushed it up, then push it up again and press A. Basically whenever it drops back down very quickly the next try will be successful.

Thats a nice tip! I figured it out too, but am buying lockpicks by the million and using the auto-open to raise my picking level. Not that Ive come across many chests (ladies excluded) as Im STILL faffing about, rather than exploring dungeons.

Soul Gem question... I seem to have captured a few souls but I cant seem to see which soul gem is full and which is empty in my inventory. Any tips for getting my armourer skill up, its on 40 at the moment, and I cant repair my magical weapons myself until Ive reached journeyman level They wear out pretty fast with my attributes.

Something else Ive found, is that there isnt enough gold in the game. Ive been poor since day 1.

re: enemies, some of them are resistant to your weapons. Im sure A troll I was trying to kill was taking no damage at all with my enchanted bow, but the bow worked well on that invisible wraith creature (the one which leaves behind glow dust when you kill it).

Another question: When you take (and sell) items in the mages guild, will they eventually replenish themselves?

Fighters guild... I got my arse whooped by the lady I fought, but have since leveled up several times, and will go back to kill her tonight. You said there was good money in the arena fights... is this fighting, or betting, or both (not really tried the betting)

One more Q: I read that your enemies level up with you. Does this refer to NPC's getting stronger, or NPC's only appearing when you have levelled up? I noticed after the wolves, bears, trolls and mountain lions (in that order) starting to appear as I got stronger.

Ok...

The soul gems, when you highlight it in your backpack (or massive pockets whatever you think it is) a little soul level will appear next to it, if it says none then it's empty, otherwise it will say something like common or greater (meaning it has a soul at that level trapped in it)

Arena money, I made most of my money just by doing the fights, although the biggest money in the game is to be made by simply looting powerful weapons and selling them to the shopkeepers (on about 32,000 gold now with a large mansion in Anvil to store my goodies, the quest that goes with that mansion is pretty cool too)

The monsters and enemies will get more powerful as you level up, where you used to fight just wolves you will then find timber wolves who boast more health and a bigger bite, other monsters will just get more powerful and have slightly different names, you will still stumble on the weaker enemies from time to time, finding rats is pretty funny as a single swipe from my sword now sends them flying.

I'm suffering from the same problem with my armorer skill so i'm tending to use just normal weapons and armour (got a full set of badass Ebony armour though) so I can repair them all myself, on about 45 armorer skill at the moment and it goes up pretty fast, only need a skill of 50 before you can fix the magic stuff.

Edit: stuff you buy from the mages guild (or anywhere) should be back again after 24 hours, so if you wipe out your thieves guild contact of his 100 lockpicks you can wait 24 hours and grab them all again.

Cheers Steve. re: the mages guild, I was referring to selling their gear, the stuff you pick up for free. Rather than doing missions, ive been poncing about the guilds, filling my pockets with loot for free, then flogging it on to the local trader, going back to buy spells from the mages guild, filling my pockets again with mage stuff, repeat. Not very exciting, but poncing about is almost as much fun as quests.

Admitedly, Ive passed a few dungeons I was too scared to venture into, went inside, then ran away when monsters started chasing me. Was kinda surprised when they followed me out the door, chased me down the hill and and carried on with them in tow as I fled through the countryside leaping over fences and across the fields with them still chasing after me, whilst I summoned imps to try and stall them

Course I went back and finished them off, but theres a nice fear factor when approaching any dungeon, and a fantastic sense of organising yourself, weapons, lights, and spells before entering. Its the most perfectly balanced and enjoyable game ever

I think this game is a very rare example of value for money - in any respect!

When you level up, do you only get your +2 bonuses (bonuses by each attribute) if you choose to boost that attribute? I havnt noticed whether all my stats went up with bonuses when I leveled up, or only those which I chose to level up.

edit... the numbers in brackets represent how much your kills go up if you choose to boost that skill... didnt notice before

also, when exploring small caverns which you stumble upon, can you "upset" future missions by making an effect on your environment.

ie the mission where you had to get the diary from castle ruins, to prove to the arena champion what his fathers history was... if I found that dungeon without first speaking to the arena champion, and if I stole the diary and then sold it to a merchant, or if I did anything similar to any of the thousands of objects in the game what would happen

Look for the book on his table - there's a note on top of it that may help

Anyone know if there's a mod available to sort out the stupidity with bounties? For example, when escorting Martin and Jauffrey to Cloud Ruler Temple I decided to take the long route and not use fast travel. On the way we were attacked by wolves, bears, bandits etc and in one of the fights Jauffrey got in the way as I was taking a swing. So he turned on me! I quicky yielded but when we got to Bruma I was arrested 'cos I had a bounty on my head for attacking him! Bah!
