Blueyonder 10meg

Anything past 2Mb and I can't see the point for my needs. Upload speed, that's a different issue. Uploading at 256Kb makes me want to tear my hair out, Isn't it 128Kb on Blueyonder?
I was much the same using the 2 and 4 meg service, but then they not only upgraded me for free to 10 meg, they also knocked £15 a month off the price

I have only ever once seen 1050kbs, normally my AVG is the only thing to peak at around 600, but for £35 its relatively good value for money.
For those that want more power, BE THERE offer 24meg downstream and 1.3meg up... all for £24.99.
Details are here www.bethere.co.uk/broadband.do
I will swap over when my exchange goes live next month

As I live out in the sticks I was limited to a 512k ADSL connection, not good enough IMO.
So I decided to move to Telabria (SoBroadband) who operate a WiMAX classed service (completely wireless, no phone line for this required
), signed upto the 3mb service which has a 512k upload.
So far so good, few teething probs as its new to the area so I'm happy to give it a while to improve. I can regularly download at over 350k/s which is fast enough for my needs, I honestly don't see why we need any faster but if it's there then you may as well have it. Pings are better than my DSL connection so far, noticably smoother playing GTL online.
The 512k is great for upload, now feels like I have broadband!

Ditto...
For home use I would agree. However if you are building five new pc's on the bench and they are all downloading bloody mcrosoft updates, then the extra bandwidth comes in very handy as its your time/money. Persoanly I would be happy for half a meg if I wasn't buidling pc's and knew that my ISP would give me decent ping times for my games PC.
I wonder what the ISP's are going to do in in the future when all the bandwidth gets even more ridiculous, as its getting now, and how they will try to convince us why we need any more than 10meg?? Ten years ago I paid £45 for BT broadband, and with only half a meg.
As mass free mp3 downloading is starting to be jumped on by the music industry, what responsibility is the ISP going to take to stop it?
I wonder where we'll all be in a few years from now
I am looking forward to NTL's free 8mb upgrade from the 2mb I have now.
As far as I'm concerned, you can never have too much bandwidth
Especially running an Xbox and a 360, both on live, along with 3 pc's in the house !!!
I have to unplug everything when I go on Live with the 360, if I play GRAW online I can only hold 4 of us, if we go to 5, everybody get's dropped
2mb is lame, bring on the bigger connections

But back when we were using 9600 baud modems etc did we ever think we would be able to use 512k a sec, let alone many MB's a sec?
Its all relative, there will be lots more interactive stuff and higher quality video feeds and complex online gaming coming along to suck that bandwidth up and leave us needing more
