The GTL server (not the pistonheads one, the general one that lets you connect to the lobby and race) is down. Apparently this is common recently, and means annoyingly you can't even connect to your own server because it has to go through GTL's lobby server for some reason.

Also, apparently when you sometimes join a race, then 15 seconds later is decides to reload the track for no reason, that is also a server problem at their end.

A bit annoying. More annoying is that people think it won't be back up until after the weekend when the people who run it get back to work

A few people getting annoyed here:

I sent off a short email to 10tacle who apparently run the servers..

The implications of this for the league are that we need the IP address of the server so that we can do a direct connect.

Tried the direct IP approach but it doesn't work either - I think you still have to be routed through the 10-tacle server anyway. Doesn't look promising for tonight’s race......

Correct; even by direct IP it still has to verify your online password through the 10T authentication server.

Chaps,

I'll get back from the folks later, and I'll liase with a couple of you regarding setting up a direct IP connection.

If not tonight, I'll make sure that you are racing tommorrow night.

The bottom line is, when the 10T server is down you cannot compete online without using a 3rd party program...

So looks like we will be waiting.. unless they sort it by the end of today..

They don't deserve out money

Still down.

Still there's the Italian Job on BBC3 at 8:20pm so this evening might not be a total bore.

I've played GTL online with some other friends by using direct IP?

I know he had to do something to enable ports (or something ) in his firewall

Nice win Uncle

I think Davy and I would have given you a run for your money if we hadn't had a coming together on the 1st lap - 906s were king tonight

I made few errors in a fit of pique and was down to 9th at the end of the 1st lap. Finally settling down to a rythmn, I started to claw a few places back until I caught Mark J in his BMW CSL. I was all over him in teh braking and fast corners, and though I pulled alongside a few times, I left plenty of space and couldnt get cleanly past. We gradually caught Andy and Holst who were also having a tussle, but in the next few laps I ran wide trying to get past at the first right hander and dropped back. You all went in for your piststops and as I went past the star/finish I noticed Davy was having his so I was up to 2nd

My fuel light started flashing just as I crossed the next lap and Davy was closing fast, so I pitted next time round and came out in 4th just behind Mark J again with about 6 laps to go. This time I was a bit more purposeful and got past a few times on the brakes only to run a little wide and Mark got the power down quicker to pass me straight back. Finally I managed a clean outbrake at the 90 degree right hander near the end of the lap and Mark had a half spin on the exit to give me some breathing space. Took the last few laps gently and finished 3rd behind Unc and Davy

Great fun

That was a good 'un
Yeah Davy's fastest was more or less exactly 1sec less than mine, not sure if he had any spins or anything though, I had one right on the last lap!! Then again my split times took me down a bit, but I just couldn't hold them together for the full lap..

Looks like it'll be a good race tomorrow, but I bet I crash

It was a fun race last night, although I had to leave mid way though as I had to go out.

Tried racing the pantera and did ok, but ive just been playing in the 906 and went almost 4s a lap faster
