XBox360 take two
Discussion
Get up.
Go into town.
Buy 360.
Get home.
Feverously rip packaging apart and plug in.
Setup.
Play Gotham.
Discover that it has artifacts all over the place, rendering (pun intended) it unplayable.
Realise that shops are shut.
Go to bed.
Get up, do various little jobs.
Scuttle into town before shops shut and replace copy of PGR3.
Go to pub.
Scuttle home.
Play new version of PGR3.
Discover the same problem.
Realise shops are shut, again.
Go to bed.
Get up.
Go to work.
Scream into town.
Replace entire XBox, thus losing all progress on saved games.
Get home.
Feverously rip packaging apart and plug in.
Setup.
Discover XBox Live is down.
Think "sod it", and setup as standalone.
Play Gotham.
Discover things are now good.
Hurrah.
Play Gotham for about 3 hours.
Xbox Live comes back up.
Recover GamerTag.
Discover that doing that wipes out my save games.
Arse.
Spend about 45 minutes sorting out a way to deal with 2 identical profiles on one machine, one of which has a savegame you want to keep.
Sucess.
Go to bed. Get cold shoulder as it's now almost 1am.

Crappy low def TV, on composite for now too, spit...
Quite frankly, I was quite dissapointed with the apparent graphical power of the 360 when I first played it on my TV. Sure it looked better than the old Xbox, but not a whole lot better.
Then I got myself a VGA cable and played it on an LCD monitor at 1280 x 1024 (thereby enbaling HD). Words cannot describe the difference.
Rob, if you think the graphics are great now (esp on composite of all things), just WAIT till you see it doing some HD action.

Mr E. Have you got a HD TV ? Get one ! it makes an amazing difference.
Currently hooked up to a 21" (£400) monitor. Looks sharp.
HDTV will be happening, just as soon as they've actually worked the standards out, have dropped to a price I can afford and I've bought a new house to put it in.
