I have just bought this....

I have all the series - I really like them.... I also have a headache now because I am replaying the same level trying to do a 'cleaner job'

Anyone else got it?

Yep and i've polished off all the levels with a Silent Assassin rating, so if you need any tips then let me know, you might want to add a spoiler warning to the title though.

Is this third or first person game?

If first person, I may buy it and give it a go....

Primarily 3rd person but can be 1st. Not a shooter as such, I did it without using a gun. Although if you want to take the messy approach then gunning people down is good fun.

You can play on either 1st person or 3rd person by clicking R3...

I like the way you can choose to be totally careful and cunning, or just kill everyone!!!

Bloody hell Steve_Evil - you cracked that quick!

I've finished it with generally a little collateral damage - from the unfortunate guards.

Doesn't take me long to crack much these days... Which is a bit of a shame as it ends up costing a fortune in games. Am a bit of a hitman pro though having played the previous games to death.

Fantastic game, I managed to complete it with Silent Assasin ratings in 2 days, thought the ending was superb, although I can imagine a lot of people not quite getting what to do.

I'm looking forward to getting this (when it's cheaper), I love the goal of getting a walkthrough butfailing that a real successful hatchet job will do.

You should give nimblethumbs.com a go. Rent out any two games at a time for £9.99/month.

Found Hitman and Ping Pong in the post when I got back from work yesterday. Which was nice.

Have been thinking about it and may have to give it a go, although I do get the urge to play a lot of my games again ages after first playing them, and quite like to see shelf upon shelf of games stacked up.

After reading this thread and hearing how great this game is I thought I would download the demo for my Xbox 360. I've since deleted it and definately won't be buying it due to the poor graphics, linear gameplay, and poor controls (I want to control my character, no press a button then watch a scripted animated action). I'll stick with Oblivion for the time being...

Indeed. I've never played the 360 version - only the PC. But linear gameplay? There are plenty of ways to acheive your objective.

The level from the demo is the training level where it guides you by the hand and shows you pretty much every single way there is to manipulate the level/enemies to help you out. After that you have to apply what you learn in the training level and adapt it to work for you.

The only scripted animations are things like jumping over balconies and the close combat kills which work much better scripted anyway.
