GPU challenging games

Hi all, I just bought a new PC to arrive on the 29th, very excited for some reason, ive got my work PCs and laptop and just wanted something to tackle games and blind me with framerates and amazing resolution. Anyway can you recommend some PC games that will take advantage of a latest spec fast PC, Ive got HL2 and far cry but considering F.E.A.R and have heard good things about 'X3', any recommendations from my fellow gaming PHers?

Farcry with all the patches and I beleive there are some better textures (might be wrong though)

GTL in a high resolution, max detail, AA and AF looks very nice and is also a bit of a work out for most GPUs.

Quake 4/ Doom 3 are also quite GPU intensive at higher resolutions with AA and AF.


FEAR will test your GPU for sure, and have a good go at killing it if you add AA and AF

EDIT: I would also imagine GT-R2 when it's released will do the trick.

Cheers, Ive not considered Q4 for some reason, I played its previous versions but never even tried it. The PC is a AMD 5000+X2, 2 gb of RAM, 500GB w/ 16mb buffer hard drive, nvidia 7950GX2 graphics and phase change cooling.

Oblivion! Whack up the resolution, switch on the HDRI and go Oooooooh!

Then wind down the resolution because not even that rig will play it all smoothly! Great game though if you are into RPGs at all.
