Something missing in your rFactor?
Something fast? Something loud?

You waited long, but finally CTDP brings you the real Formula One-experience to your rFactor. Now you can get the complete 2005 season with all cars: polished, cleaned and prepared for you to race. And that won't be a small one, but you get physics, which will put your ability to succeed to its limits. Who said Formula One was easy, has never tried... the real thing.

I wish it was real!

This mod contains:
2005 Models and textures
All models inhigh details and textures in high resolution
All special liveries used throughout the season
2005 helmets and drivers
2005 Physics and Performance
2005 Rules (ie no tyre change)
Non-linear tyregrip and tyre damages through debris
3 kinds of tyres for each of the 2 manifacturers
New tyres and rims with motion blur
New Sounds by Fonsecker
10 Engine preset programms
realistic wear of motor and brake
Updated Menu with Music by Michael Renk
Updated Head Up Display
Full DX7, DX8 and DX9 Support
all Templates
Supports rFactor-Skinning-Feature

Not played it yet but its getting good comments..

Looks very nice.

I haven't started up rFactor for months now, I imagine I have a fairly huge update to do when I get round to it. Clearly it's rFactor where the modders are spending their time.

Big update lots of new features, do it as a fresh install to a new directory (I created a new folder c-rFactor, and left the original version in the program files-rfactir then copied across the tracks I had, then deleted the old version, saves any problems occuring. In fact you are recommended to do it as a new install. Then re-installed any mods.

Yes, it's not really an update, more like an entirely new version as you don't need the original. Plus it's 600-odd meg!

I've just been driving the demo. The F1 car is bloody impossible to keep on the road.

I trust you have traction control on as the real car uses it and the AI uses it too.

If you're still having problems getting used to it after those wallowy GTL cars turn stability control on, then down then off as you do. I had to do the same with the 79 cars but now have everything off for them and I'm sliding them quite nicely under control. The intense speed of the BMW is the thing to get used to though.

But when you get it right it's great

I've just been driving the CDTP 2005 mod. I was driving the BAR-Honda at Silverstone and hopelessly off the pace (2.5s off - AI set to 100%) but just been to Monza (GTL conversion) and I was 0.4s fastest. Just getting used to it I guess but also Monza is so much easier to drive than Silverstone.

Do I turn traction control on/off with F8 or whatever? There is a traction control override button mapped to my wheel by default, what is that for?

Try settings/difficulty for all the main settings. If you use one of your wheel buttons as the menu/LCD channge of the HUD (bottom right) you can also cycle through to the settings and use the function keys to turn on and off things in the car.

Plus don't forget to map 4 buttons on the keyboard to control seat position up/down/forward/backward too

Out of interest, how do I prove I already have paid for the game? I bought it the first week it was out but I can't find where all my details are...

If you can't find the email they sent you or any other method of saving the code.

From RSC - "You should have received this confirmation email from Trymedia, if you do not or need another one, please visit http://csc.trymedia.com/csc/start/cus to obtain a new one."

Plus here, if you uninstall rfactor and reinstall you don't need the code - http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.ph

What a magnificent mod! Great modelling, great sound, great physics and "driving feel".

However, it's pretty hard to drive to the limit. I suppose you'd expect that in an F1 mod.

On Toban Short, I'm running between 3 to 5 seconds slower than the AI cars (strength: 90%, aggression: 25%) with traction control on medium, max aero downforce, and soft tyres. My consistent time is 50s, but it's very hard to get below 49s, even though I know the track very well. The AI cars are running at 44 to 46 seconds.

But then, I'm in a Minardi.

Very impressive! I'm surprised at how close to reality the rFactor track is.

That's great, little touches like the helmet movement are what makes this mod so good.

Feeling quite Gilles Villeneuve-esque, I decided to hitch up a Toyota F1 car in rFactor and go for a... race.

If only real F1 was this close. But then the damage and injury toll would be too high.

In front of me are Schu Snr, followed by Alonso, while behind me are Rubens, and Coulthard.

Get set for some seriously bad driving: brake lock-up, driving into run-off, two wheels on grass, etc. Having gone from 15th to 9th after only 3 laps, I wasn't about to take it easy. Unfortunately, this over-enthusiastic driving style took its toll when Coulthard smacked my rear-left wheel on the next and final lap of the race. I couldn't get any useful traction from it, and was forced to limp back to the pits and retire.

Track: "Nuerberg" (Actually the Nurburgring South Loop GP circuit.)
Lap Time: 1m 40.634s (Made two crucial mistakes which cost a few seconds.)

Nice video

how do you get replays in rfactor?

can you pause it and watch replays mid race/practice/qualy session, as in GPL?

I haven't been able to find any sort of replay facility yet.

Just like GTR & GTL.

Press R and you get 20s of immediate replay

And the Replay Fridge, located below the options of Testing, Race weekend, Race championships.

Just like GTR/GTL it saves off all your hotlaps (overwriting them at the same circuit if you don't rename them) and your last laps/ complete races at the circuits.

There is also the facility to export a replay as an AVI (cinepak codec) saves off to your replayfridge/movies folder big AVI's need to be converted to WMV normally.

I take it you've not looked at any of the vcr replay files I've posted then

if I press R nothing happens, even though it's bound to "replay" in the options.

You haven't got it turned on I think, go to the replay fridge and you'll have options at the top to turn on "record replays" and "record hotlaps"
