I've done a quick search and couldn't find anything here.

What sort of times have people been getting around the 'ring and in what vehicles? I'm staying away from nutter hyper cars at the moment and planning on getting a decent, clean, time with something like an M3 CSL, Z06 Vette, Typhoon, Sagaris or Mustang GTR Concept.

Big-ish NA (barring the Typhoon obviously) sportscars in other words.

Anyone got a decent time against which I can benchmark myself?

Cheers

Phil

For reference

I've just done a 7'23".32 in the M3 CSL and I'm seriously happy with that. (32nd in global rankings for the class)

I think I can get another 5 secs off that if I can just stop nicking the fringe of the circuits from time to time and get the damned Karosel right!

I've also just realised today that I've had my setup all wrong on my TV/360. ie I didn't have it in wiodescreen or correct PAL format. All of a sudden everything is much larger and clearer. Now I am even more imoressed by the graphics on this. I knew something was not quite right on my old setup!

I suspect the larger screen and clearer graphics (eg: circuit map) have helped inprove my time somewhat as before my best time was just under 8 minutes!

Have managed the beheamoth (spelling) in about 8-8:30 in a F430 challange, which I was quite pleased with. Irritatingly, I got beaten by about 10 seconds....

'kin hell this game is awesome!

I've really neglected it for ages - somehow I couldn't just get into it. I've downloaded the Style and speed packs now and I've got accustomed to the fantastic in car view...

Wow!

Now that I've sorted out the setup of my X-box I just can't get enough of it!

All I need to do now is get good!

Cheers

I take it you fellas are using the gears too? I don't play games much these days. I used to play on the PC though. I've been thinking about getting a 360 for PGR3. Played 1 and 2 to death on live a couple of years ago.

Yup I'm using the manual setup - no other way really.

I don't have a wheel though - only standard controler.

I'm thinking my ranking above may not have been accurate either. It appears that there are a number of different "tables" as I've been faster than that but ended up something like 136th in a different table (using the same class of car)

I haven't quite worked out how it works yet...

There are 1000 postitions per league for each class and the leagues go down to however many people have taken part.

You need to check your position and then make a note of which league it say's.

If you are 136th in league 2 for example, it means you are 1136th overall

I also find it helpful to check which car's have been used to set the fastest times in class before I choose which car I will use myself.

Good time! What car Slinky?

And what Xbox username? (Not that I've actually raced live yet - too timid of crashing and pissing loads of people off!)

Managed a 6:34.92 in the M6.

More in there, but lost interest

The fastest guy in our Time Trial was a 6:16.99 in an M6 !!

I've just ordered one of these wonderful machines to play this very game. Although I love the controler I might get a steering wheel. Anyone suggestions?

There is a Download section in the game menu - however you can also go via the Xbox "Dashboard" and download loads of extras for most games. You'll need to buy some points or whatever they call them and then you can spend to your heart's content.

Everything from a Mini (against the games' min. of 170mph and utterly pointless) to some very serious kit indeed. All the downloaded cars are "Free" in the game and so you can bulk up your garage very quickly with some great kit!

Well worth the small outlay IMHO.

I've just come across this. http://uk.gear.ign.com/articles/706/7

Looks and works better than any of the other ones that are available. Designed for release with Forza 2 which is coming out in early October. I think I'll get it. Looks quite smart. Bet your ring times will get better with one of these babies. Smoother driving and all that.

Would be a laugh, although i don't have as much spare time as i used to. Perhaps i'll just lurk in the background and put in a time every now and again.

I'll put some thought into that then...

Think we might specify track and car this time

Thats fair enough, i played in another league at the same time as the PH league and they specified a track and car. I almost feel it takes the pressure off a little bit. As if you can choose any car, you want to use the car that the other racers in the top 10 use. It then became an addiction to get in the top 10.
