Ok, the new Evo Magazine has a large advert in it for Need For Speed: Carbon.

Does anybody know anything about it ? If it's anything like the others, I suspect it'll be a bit on the chavvy side, but probably loads of fun at the same time !

I would look on the EA site, but our over zealous IT system won't let me !! mad

Yep, fairly similar to the last one, three classes of cars (with apparently 3 different soundtracks to go with each) you've got tuners which will comprise of mainly Jap cars, Muscle which will be all the old American Muscle cars and Exotics which will be your supercars. Should be a launch title for the Wii so expect every other version to hit at the same time around December.

as much as ive found the recent NFS chavvy - at least most wanted didnt MAKE you chav your car, and offered some nice metal to drive... but a very playable genre.

if this is a continuation of that, then i'll buy it!

If it's anything like NFS:Most Wanted then I'll be buying it. I loved that game.

Excellent ! Thanks folks !

I'm still playing Most Wanted - currently trying to raise my bounty to take on No. 6. Police keep losing me though ! I actually had to reverse back up the road to get them to keep chasing me the other day ! cop

I shall await the latest installment in the series with baited breath !

I stopped playing NFS when I realised that I *had* to install Neons to get to the next level.

You may well have done in NFS: Underground but Most Wanted scrapped all of that, you could mod your car if you wanted to, or ignore the visual elements entirely and concentrate on the engine and handling.

Best game was still NFS4, all they have to do is make the exact same game, tracks, newer cars, modes etc etc, just with modern sounds, gfx and networking.

If you go onto any NFS community the NFS4 one is STILL going strong, pretty much shows they got the game right in my view!

Correction, the best Need for speed was on the 3D0 console.
It was more of a simulator than anything that has followed.

I completed Most wanted without bothering with anything other than performance upgrades.
Seemed quite easy though?

Apart from the very end?

clap

Oh yes!

Realistic roads (Coastal, Alpine and City IIRC) and for the time very realistic cars, especially the engine notes and interior details...very nice
