Now with short video clip - http://video.google.com/videoplay?doc

Seems to be handling just like GPL, although he's basing his physics on the updated 1969Mod physics which has much better realistic front end grip to the 67 cars.

More pics on this page, the newly added Eagle, BRM and Honda.

With some better textures (one's shown are just basic colours without the alpha (?) levels) this will be a great new addition and a good base to move on from.

At the moment he's got permission to use the rFactor 1979Mod engine sounds. Which are really good ones.

I really hope this is a really good conversion, I miss those old open-wheeled days.

The video looks like it will be awesome.

is it just me or do the wheels look too wide?

I hope people take this on and create accurate recreations of each car too.

The ride height of the cars looks too low to me - reminiscent of the pre GPL 1.1 patch which stopped the 1 inch "lowrider" setups which were the craze of the day.

I updated the thread, renamed it and put the link at the top. Better than starting a new one.

It was only released today, I've just tried it and it brilliant. For this release all the cars have the same physics but that makes it good because we won't have a field full of Lotus 49s.

I think it brilliant, especially as it's only a months work if that and this being just the unfinished beta release. It's a great base from which to work. Think of it as GPL was in 1998 when it first came out and it's evolution although of course it has been designed to be GPL in the modern sense, like an FIA Historic championship, the creator doesn't want to make a mod that's 1960's based after all that's what GPL is for.
