When I first bought the 360 with PGR3 I used the Ultima almost exclusively - except for parts where you had to use a specific group.
I've now just got the MS Racing Wheel with the Force Feedback version of PGR3, so will try it this weekend to see how much better it is, and whether the force feedback changes my choice of steed.

I started with the Ultima too, then on to the TVR Typhoon, then on to the Cerbera Speed 12 (it's a bit of an animal
) and then finally bought the F50 GT.
You won't get a quicker car than the F50 GT but it can be one hell of a difficult car to control if you enter a corner wrong. You might prefer the McLaren F1 or the Merc touring car - both almost as fast but much easier to handle.

I started with the Ultima myself, finished most of the game with it.
Also used Ferrari 355 and eventually, once unlocked, the RUF Supercar Concept.
Enjoy

Fine taste you have

Always wanted a go in an Ultima, ever since I saw one going down the pit straight at Goodwood at a speed I have not seen a car go down there before !!
The basic thing behind PGR3, is that every car is capable of 170mph.
Some of the 'download' cars don't meet this criteria, I imagine due to people asking for slower cars.
If you want a feel good, momentum based driver, go for the download pack with the RUF R.K. Spyder 3.8 and take it to Boulevard Tour (IIRC (it's been a while)) in Vegas.

Race after race after race in this game just bored me to death!
Play it on line, it's loads better!
PGR4 will be loads better, PGR3 was a rush job just to get a HD racing game out at the launch!
I hope you are right about PGR3. I played it at the weekend and was disappointed. Racing as a team is a good idea but simply buying cars is too easy. You should have to win races to unlock better cars..and the races are far too easy to win too.
It was too similar to need for speed (not underground, that was awesome. Another game ruined) whereby crashes don't have as much affect as PGR2.
One more thing. The buttons above the triggers are a pain. At least for me. Quite often i'd press them by accident and change the view of the car. A bit off putting to say the least.

Change the configuration of the buttons to solve the above
