i found this very sad

people are getting HURT by the wii

now i know that some of the injuries are from the wrist band being too skinny...

but some people are actualy getting hurt simply from playing the wii sports game b\c they arn't used to PYISICAL EXERCISE

that is ridiculous
how unathletic do you have to be to become harmed by your video game console

you could sit on your butt and play the games if you wanted too

i could understand if you were elderly but if your too old to play the wii you probalby shouldn't own one

just thought i'd express my concern for the growing obesity epidemic in america though the boards on a brittish car website (blah)

It's more likely people are getting a little over excited (or are pissed) while playing on it. Flailing your arms around while holding a blunt object usually ends up in some form of injury/breakage

also read about people throwing their controllers into there LCD TV's and breaking them. How does wii gameplay compare to eyetoy? Seems a lot of wii games are similar - boxing, bowling, etc. havent seen a Wii so interested,

I'm usually extremely laid back about technology and the like, but I've already told my son that if he wants a Wii then it's not going in the lounge with the plasma and has to be used in the family room only (with the crappy 21" CRT).
He can be pretty clumsy sometimes and I just can't face the thought of the new plasma with a huge crack in it and my son saying "it was an accident".

(Mind you, I think the lounge is fairly well provided for with an XBox, PS2 and XBox360. hehe)

I get the impression that most of the flying controllers being blamed on the wrist strap breaking are actually people not bothering to use the strap at all. Ok it "might" break if you let go of the controller hard enough, but you just know there are people out there who won't use the strap.

I even heard some people got so caught up in the bowling game, they were letting go
of the controler on purpose because they assumed it was the ball.Haha.

Nintendo are currently sending out warnings to people now regarding the various dangers.
Some guy posted an image of the one he recieved from them on another forum.

Black eyes, broken arms, tennis elbow, smashed windows/tv's/lamps etc etc etc..now that's
the way to spice up Christmas

I was talking to a guy yesterday whose 10 year old daughter had managed to put a stonking great crack in the screen of his brand new £2K HDTV by letting go of the Wiimote while playing Sports.

I can see household insurers having a few claims to deal with after Christmas is done biglaugh

yeh but tennis elbow dosn't develop in like 2 weeks from playing a video game

it's developed over months (depending on how fit your joints are) from the vibration of the racquet hitting the ball the shock from hitting the ball and you also have to swing a tennis racket a lot harder then you do a wiimote

i played tennis for about 4-6 hours a day 5 days a week over our 4 month summerseason and i have absolutely NO problem with tennis elbow
