Hey guys, I'm in the mood for some WWII aircraft dogfighting action.

So yeah, need a dogfighting fix.
I've got a PS2 and a PC (laptop with 1.7Ghz, 512Ram, Intel Extreme intergrated graphics card (sucks i know)).
I'm after something more arcade-y than sim, and not fussed about Pacific or Europe (as long as there's a Spitfire or Mustang I'm happy )

I've been keen on Heros of the Pacific for a while, but it doesnt seem to get great reviews.
Does anyone have anything they'd reccomend?

See if you can find a copy of Crimson Skies for the PC. Its quiet dated now and probally not going to be easy to get hold of but its the best bit of Aircraft Dogfighting I have ever played.

PS2 - Secret Weapons over Normandy is pretty good as a "game" rather than sym. Spit's, Mustang's and Hurricane's are all in there, plus a selection of other WWII stuff (you can fly Allied or Axis planes). Secenario's include Pacific theatre, so battles against Zero's and the like. It's good fun and you should be able to find it cheap now as it's a few years old.

See if you can get hold of one of the combat flight simulator games from microsoft, ebay may be the best bet.

Got a few hours enjoyment out of the airfix flyers one a few years back - dont know if there have been any updates - not that realistic, but a good laugh especially if you have ever built the models, eventually you escape the house and do some missions outside,

Blazing Angels - Squadrons of WW2 may appeal too.

The best WWII dogfighting game available is the "IL2" series by Maddock. The level of realism is tweakable from pretty arcade like (unlimited ammo/fuel) right up to hard core sim (Prop pitch/fuel mix). With the current add on's you can patch it to cover both the eastern front and the pacific. Spit and Mustang very present with many variants of each.

Unfortunately I'm not sure your lap top will run it

Crimson skies is very cool. Total arcade game with "what if" fighters (forward swept wings, push props, both push and pull props etc). Not Spit or Mustang but totally enjoyable all the same.

Janes World War 2 fighters might be worth hunting down too, graphically stunning with superb damage modeling (shoot off an enemy planes engine cover exposing the block while it spews oil all over his windscreen? Doable yes ). Very arcade like to play too.

All the above ar PC based
