Yesterday I thought i'd try to win a few more golds because I used to get whipped by the Merc when I raced online.
I already have the Porsche because I have all silvers, and because my internet provider is a bit unreliable (and wireless) I get moaned at for lagging quite a bit. This and being underwhelmed by my mates PGR3 on his xbox 360 has inspired me to go for golds then get back online with another provider.

Out of interest, what's everyones opinion of PGR3? The graphics are great and so is the ability to dirve as a team, but the crashes are way too unreal, almost as bad as need for speed where you can crash at 150mph and carry on as if nothing happened.

FYI, I did buy the packs which got me the TVR speed 12 and Radical but I was impressed when someone raced with a Merc or purple Speed 12 that they'd earned.

I got all platinums on it way back when, still like PGR3 but it definitely wasn't as tough as 2.

I wasn't hugely impressed with PGR3. Just as well really since the console got knocked over with the disk inside, scratching it so badly that it's now unplayable

Anyone know whether PGR2 is one of the original Xbox games that will work on the 360? Might have to dig it out and give it a whirl.

It isn't no, which is a bit of a shame.

I got around 50% of the platinums, the rest gold. Platinums were really hard, some of them took me an age to do and others I couldn't do for love or money, and this was in a year of ownership

Just to put the ease of PGR3 into prespective(sp?), I had all platinums in just over a month of ownership, the majority I did first time, I think I only got stuck on a handful. Absolute complete and utter piece of pee compared to 2 IMO.

I really do hope teh next PGR is a mix of 2 and 3. PGR2 for it's more realistic driving and PGR3 for it's improved options such as team racing and brilliant graphics of course.

A half way point between 2 and 3 would do me fine for PGR4 (already a trailer on Live Marketplace for 4)

I have all the golds and most of the platinums for PGR2. Absolutely addicted to it online; awesome game. PGR3 was a big let down in terms of online gameplay IMO. I played it for a month or two, never really got into it despite the improved graphics and sound, cool cars, and decent tracks. Ended up going back to PGR2 (very common story amongst people I play alot).

If your struggling to get all golds to unlock the Merc, I expect your mostly stuck in the cone challenges. That's what I found most difficult (and tedious!). My tip is to try turning around at the start of the challenge and running the course backwards for a while to build up some extra kudos, obviously leaving enough time to turn back the right way and complete the challenge in the time limit.

Nowhere near!
Not had it long, but absolutely loving it!

I went for the £50 deal back in Nov.
