Just tried to buy r factor and can't. I was connected to the internet and closed down my firewalls as it is says you might have to (why? other new programmes just get a prompt from the FW). Anyway the progress bar appears but no progress is made (just the odd very occasional flash of data on the little pcs in the bar at the bottom of the screen) anyone else have a similar problem and resolve it? Or am i just unlucky and have caught there servers at the wrong time?

Didn't have a problem. If you think the transaction might have gone through (ie you gave them your credit card details) then it's worth dropping them an email to see what's happened.

p.s. Welcome to rFactor

just trying to sort it so I can keep my firewall (zone alarm) up, most programes appear and ask permission - not r factor.

I had bizarre problems with rFactor and my firewall but its sorted now. I think you don't need any ports open to be a client as it doesn;t need them or something or it uses something that might be called UTP and automaticaly opens them or something,
